Are there any fans here. I did a search and found no threads dedicated to this sitcom. I had never really been interested in the show until about 3 months ago when I saw an episode at my parents house and was hooked instantly. Now I catch it whenever it is on...always reruns until the last episode this past Monday. Ironic that the last episode was the only "new" episode that I ever saw. It seems like the 30 minute episode passes but in 5 minutes of laughter and I'm always left wanting more. I just went out and bought season one and am looking forward to relaxing with Tara and a nice cold beer, laughing my butt off at the first 22 episodes!!!
good show. it's final episode is the death of the sitcom...i'm praying for a resurrection. there are so few left that are any good.
Eveybody loves raymond was the shiznit! I loved the final episode because it was different usually you had something resolved or someone dying or getting married etc. etc. but it was just like a regular episode (30 minutes and everything)..I thought it was great! I don't really watch new sitcoms much. My routine goes like this: 09:30 Seinfeld (WB) 10:00 Futurama or Daily Show (CN or CC) 10:30 Everybody Loves Raymond (WB) 11:00 Seinfeld (WB) 11:30 Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (Nick) Like most of you..I only watched ELR reruns and never when the new episodes premiered
I never had ANY interest in the show for years until aout a year or two ago when my wife and I caught the re-runs they show in the evenings while we eat dinner. We watch it every night now and it reminds us of ourselves. Like you, the only live show I ever watched was the finally and was very dissapointed. I guess it was nice, but it didn't seem like much and was over quick.
Hey, he finally decided he needed a bigger table! I don't love the show, but don't hate it. It's got its extremely funny moments and its blah moments.
King of Queens Two and a half Men Joey The Office Scrubs Family Guy Malcolm in the Middle Simpsons Arrested Development There are still plenty of "good" comedies still around. As for myself, I never liked Raymond. Basically, it was "Mad About You" with parents next door. Nothing that original. I've made myself see around 5 episodes over the past nine years. Pass.
I thought it was hilarious. A lot of people don't like it, but I always have. The show never really tried to get too serious, and thats one thing I really liked.
it's going to sound way corny...but i appreciated that. there was a sense, if you watched the show, that the final episode might have them moving away...as a relief from the crap they put up with having family so close. but, instead...they embraced it. and that's how it ends. i liked that. Fatty -- i hear ya...i'm just not very excited about any of those shows you listed.
I only started watching it when my girlfriend moved in and I started watching reruns with her. I don't think I ever saw a single new episode. I grew to like it because I saw parallels between Ray and Deborah's relationship and my own with my girlfriend. So many of the arguments that they had on the show were stupid fights that my girlfriend and I have had or I could see us having...
my mom absolutely loves this show! my bf doesn't like it one bit and I'm not sure why. i laugh when i watch it but i'm not a follower. i'm not a big tv watcher though. i've never been addicted to a tv series, meaning i reserve that special time once a week to watch it. the only thing i care to watch is sports and the news. i really could live without sitcoms and drama series. but now that my bf is hooked on the OC and has them tivoed, I've been watching those. only for him though! but my classic favorites are Charles in Charge, Cheers, News Radio and Fresh Prince of Bellaire.
I'm with ya. The scene at the beginning in the hospital was very heartwarming. I'm really surprised you don't like Scrubs, MM.
i do like Scrubs, actually. the only show on TV that i will absolutely make time to watch is Home Makeover. i think i'm STILL mourning Seinfeld!
Great show...plenty of reruns to watch. Favorite show was when Robert dates his partner (young black woman) and starts acting different.
my wife watches Lost. i've seen it in parts. honestly...to be fair...television shows, save rare exceptions, can't reach me like they once did. i'd rather be playing with my kids and watching a ball game with them.
