This could very well get me flamed, so be it. I'm psyched about Hakeem getting into the HOF. Yet it got me thinking about the larger picture and how we have so many threads about 93-94, 94-95 seem like that's all we're about. Our teams blow in the playoffs so we reminisce about championships that happened 80 years ago, OVER AND OVER AND OVER. When a Rockets game from 93-94, 94-95 comes on ESPN Classic everyone ****s their pants, why?

I wasn't old enough to fully appreciate our championships, but I do remember our entire family going out to celebrate honking our old old mercedes up and down Antoine dr. I was pumped then and I'm very proud to be a Rockets fan, yet we haven't accomplished anything in nearly 13 years. That's a ****ty run since we last won anything. T-Mac and Yao have in large part been a disappointment together and since that's true, thus all of the old vintage reminiscing threads.

I don't know, am I the only one that's frustrated with that? I guess I'm more sad than anything else that it's been so long :(

Some franchises haven't even won a championship, therefore I will always live in the past until the Rockets give us another championship, and even then I'll still live in the past.

I think for the most part we've had decent teams and have lost out due to injuries or far better teams. After the Dream era our rebuilding process wasn't that long compared to other teams. Some teams can't even make the playoffs for years straight, much less have winning seasons. I think this franchise has done a good job of not being stuck in the NBA cellar for too long, so be thankful for that. Plus, even during the bad seasons the team doesn't quit.

    Never.

Be lucky you do not live in Cleveland, where their last championship came in 1964. (and that was before the Super Bowl started.)

You have a point there RR. That actually makes a lot of sense when I think about that now, lol. We did blow pretty hard before we won championships didn't we?

I am sorry but you never stop reliving a championship.

I went to UK when we went the finals three years in a row (winning twice) and it still the greatest times I had in my college career.

Great sports moments are few and far between for a fan. So reliving the past helps to keep you enthused for more.

Never stop reliving the championships and believing that it could happen again.

that's the whole point of winning a championship. to have that moment(s) to always look back on, no matter what follows.

    Never.
I can still feel the tears from all of the losses to the Sonics and the Jazz WCF when Barkley couldn't roll on a pick, so I sure as hell have no intention of forgetting such an amazing time in my life.

of course not i get teary eyed every time i see anything about both of our title runs.

think about it how many teams out there have won a title there are 30 teams in the nba and only a handful of teams out of 30 have won titles.

and then after that only 5 franchises have won back to back titles

Alot of the younger guys can't appreciate a franchise for what it is...a process. I was lucky, I started watching basketball in 1993. The first few years were amazing. When you experience that and then you experience a team trying to rebuild you really begin to appreciate what winning a championship really means. How hard it is, and how lucky you have to be to become a championship caliber team.

The mid nineties Rockets were able to be that team in an era when some of the best basketball players ever were robbed of success by Jordan's Bulls. Our Rockets were able to overcome that, and it is something not to be forgotten.

    no.

even if we'd won a championship every year since those first 2 would still be special.

This is the stupidest question and worst thread ever!

Not only should you be banned for life, you should be castrated first, THEN banned for life!

    Sincerely,
