Gerald Wallace? I thought his defense was invaluable. I remember Coach K saying something like that. I thought his and Durant's position was secured.

Happy to see Eric Gordon make the team.He got the nod over OJ Mayo. Its got to be the arms. Mayo has no wingspan...

Rudy gay and jeff green are on that team? NBA stars must really be tired of playing for team usa all the time.

Gerald Wallace over KD, Granger, and Iggy. Yeah right.

    Jeff Green is next.

I thought it was because Wallace didn't want to play overseas?

Wallace's value must be at an all-time low now ;) . Morey needs to work his magic on MJ!

While Wallace is a better than Iggy and Granger, his game is not suited for international play. Iggy and Granger are better perimeter oriented players and International ball is best suited for that. Evans probably would have made the cut if he weren't injured. McGee is too young isn't better than Lopez or Chandler. Mayo just got caught in the numbers game, too many guards on the team and he was just the odd man out.

I think our squad might look like this:

    Billups/Rondo/Westbrook
    Rose/Iguodala/Gordon
    Durant/Granger/Gay
    Love/Lee/Odom
    Chandler/Lopez/Green

I'm surprised Eric Gordon made the cut.

Gerald Wallace basically said he didn't want to travel to Turkey.

Jeff Green will not make the final cut. His so-called "versatility" is just another name for mediocrity.

McGee is too raw and too inconsistent. I think he would produce close to zero in the actual tournament. I think cutting him was proper, although cutting Jeff Green instead of McGee may have made more sense.

Mayo didn't prove much and Reke had no chance because of his injury.

They're going to cut 3 more players by August 26. Most likely Green, Gordon, and Westbrook.

Does Wallace want to do anything? After his half hearted dunk contest participation, now with an even lower amount of interest in Team USA. You'd figure with his hard playing style that he'd be down for anything basketball but I guess not.

My guesses for cuts was McGee, Evans, Green, Gordon, Gay, Westbrook, then Mayo/Odom was a swing choice. I got 3 right but they cut Wallace so I won't be 100%.

I'll guess Green, Westbrook are in the next round of cuts. Hard to tell after those 2. They have 15 now, and I think they can take more than 12. Gay and Gordon just might make the club.

What was the point of him even participating then?

I think that was taken out of context. What I understood it to be was that he was nervous because he had never played overseas before...maybe even hadn't been overseas period.

Actually Wallace is a good fit for the international game. You're just boxing him in as a SF, as a PF or C he'd be perfect for them with his brand of D, athleticism and rebounding ability. Crash plays physical, and would be a good complement to DH on the boards.
