Finally! One of the best coaches from Europe may get his chance as a head coach in the NBA. He left Europe, where he was like analogue to Pop in NBA, with guaranteed contract & good money... just to work as a consultant for Mike Brown (Lakers), and then later as assistant coach for the Spurs. This man deserves it!

Glad he finally gets a shot at the NBA but talent > coaching in this league and the Charlotte FO doesn't have a clue.

unless they start drafting all star/all NBA players outside the lottery like the Spurs did it's not gonna happen

I'm happy for Messina but man the Hornets...not exactly the best organization to join. He's not in a position to be picky of course, but still...

Especially so, if the Hornets do a complete reset and trade away Kemba.

Most hyped up coach. Let’s see if he does anything..... not all of Pops dudes do well.

Mark Jackson should get the Knicks job.

I would only coach this team if:
    1. MJ backs off
    2. let's me have a say in who to draft
    3. they trade pretty much everyone
    4. thus get some younger players and picks
    5. in which I have a say in as well.

The coach does have a lot of say over what talent they get though...or at least he should.

I also think good coaching can make some players look better than they are.

Y'all have been crying for this bozo to get a job for like 10 years now. "He's the BEST OFFENSIVE GENIUS EVER, WAH, WAH, WAH" - meh.

Really sad thing. He is back to Europe, signed 3-year contract with Olimpia Milano (Euroleague) team.
