The three finalists are: 1)Micheal Jordan 2)Hakeem Olajuwon and 3)Karl Malone Since ESPN named Jordan as the best athlete of this century, there's no reason to think that he wouldn't be given the ESPY for Basketball Player of the Decade. My question is who comes in second? Both Olajuwon and Malone have played in two NBA finals but only the Dream has two championship rings. Malone's Jazz teams were stopped by the Rockets in 1994 and I believe again in 1995. Both players are dominant at their positions. Will Olajuwon's role with the Rockets in the latter half of the decade effect his chances of coming in second? While Olajuwon's role has declined, Malone has continued to put up numbers like he did back in 94 and 95.
