ESPN has been doing segments about video games all week. I first thought it was cool because they showed how those PC gamers go to contests and win money and consider themselves as professionals, etc... I thought that was cool and everything because one of my good friends does that as a side thing and goes to school at the same time by being on a Halo PC team. But they did a segment today that was ABSOLUTELY RIDICOULOUS. They were showing the "arcade" games such as MLB Slugfest, NBA Ballers, and NFL Street. They were complainning how MLB Slugfest show a bad examples to kids because u can beat up on people etc.. Its an ARCADE game, its suppose to be for fun and VERY UNREALISTIC. NBA Ballers has a feature that u can hook up with various girls so you can get into the "in" crowd, get to the parties, etc.. Now this is on thing I agree on, its pretty dumb and the game couldve been without it They showed how Joe Horn pulled out the cell phone last season after a TD then showed NFL Street that how u get more points to show off and encourage you to do it. ESPN were bickering how this sets a "bad" example to kids who want to be football players when they grow up. They wrote to EA about it and they made the best point, talking about how its a "STREET" game, nothing to do with playing in an actual field under regulation rules. ESPN is just stupid for doing this particular segment. Hell, they ENDORSE Sega sports series. They must be running out of stories to talk about
I would think daily dunk highlights and extended features on, oh I don't know...Horn pulling out his cellphone...would promote such activity more than a video game.
i like the fact that u get to hookup wit hot chicks and buy cars and bling in NBA Ballers. its like the NBA lifestyle that most people wish they had.
The only thing I don't like about this series is that ESPN is rerunning the same stories they've already run. The bit about NASCAR drivers using video games was an OTL topic and SC expose about 2 years ago. I even remember seeing the EXACT same footage of Dale Earnhardt Jr. playing video games back then. Plus, they've already done the whole "violence in video games" on SC last year! Why rerun the same stories, with the SAME footage? Journalistic integrity? Me thinks not.
I hope u kids realize that when u don't type "you", u make ur self sound like ur 6 years old -- droxford
