ESPN's Latest Trade-Talk Roundup - Rockets News (2/19) It's our good ol' buddy, Chad Ford. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?page=TradeTalkRoundup-090218 • The Houston Rockets have called a number of teams looking for a guard to replace Tracy McGrady. However, it sounds like they won't make a major play and all talk about a Vince Carter or Baron Davis deal is dead. It sounds as though they prefer to keep Ron Artest, and otherwise don't have a lot of assets they're willing to office. Their best chip at the moment seems to be Carl Landry.
Yeah, just read this as well... First off, I'm glad to hear they really are searching for a guard. Second, I really hope that TMac's "announcement" didn't truly kill any possible deals they had. Once my favorite player is quickly turning in to my biggest enemy. DANG IT... Finally, I'm glad they want to keep Artest, but I still think they can make some smaller trades to upgrade the team if they can't dump TMAC. Hopefully they will be able to complete one of those, at least. Here's hoping for improvement!
Von Wafer's probably saying, "Hey Rockets, over here! You have a 2 guard already. I'm 6'5", can shoot and slash! The ball moves when I am in the game!"
I don't think it's that they are soo willing, it's that he's the most appealing of all tradable players coupled with the fact of all the rooks he had the most severe of injuries. The rockets want to weed out the High Risk/High Reward players and opt for consistancy, or so I believe....
I love the Irony, you're handle is love and your post is about underage lovin' classic. Haha. Agreed, Head is quite an oddity, he's not the best player, but I hate to give him up because he can come through in a pinch, sometimes.
Pipe dream...he wouldn't even get us a bag of peanuts at this point. On topic, looks like we're standing pat. Without Tmac, we'll need to re-establish our defensive identity with Battier and Artest in the starting lineup. Heck, maybe we can get Hayes and Deke some more burn. We may have a tough time scoring, but our defense must suck the life out of other teams. We haven't had too much success with that in the past, but it's all we got left.
I can't wait to see if this team can continue to play well or if they will go back to their inconsistent ways.
