I found this pretty interesting. Here's the link http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/playoffodds Hollinger's Playoff Odds Glossary W = Average number of wins from 5,000 computer-simulated seasons, based on the Hollinger Power Rankings L = Average number of losses Best = Best record from simulated seasons Worst = Worst record from simulated seasons Playoffs = Likelihood of making the playoffs Division = Likelihood of winning the division No. 1 = Likelihood of holding the top seed for the conference Finals = Likelihood of making the NBA Finals Champs = Likelihood of winning the NBA title Lottery = Likelihood of winning the lottery
It's not updated yet.... It updates every night. The team record is updated, but the odds and projections don't change until over night...
I find it interesting that the Spurs have a better chance of winning the division than us but we have a better chance of going to the Finals and winning a championship.
To Barkley and Kenny, it's a shame that you guys are making millions as NBA analyst on most watched National NBA show, while not doing any homework.
Give it a night. We're already ahead of SA in the Hollinger Power Rankings. They have a pretty hard remaining schedule, and given how hot our team is right now, maybe we really can hold onto this seed.
Wait until it's updated. They wait until all the games are played for the day before running the simulation for the day. Usually they are refreshed in the early hours of the morning...
So U say this MacHIINe say that if the Lakeers do not go to the Finals, we go to the finalS? aND U say we 2nd best chance to win Golden trophy?
47-25 46-36 Our current record sits at 47-25, and our worst case scenario, record-wise, is 46-36? How would we get a negative win? I'm confused.
Charlotte Bobcats are only 1 game out the playoffs. Bucks, Nets, Pacers, even the Knicks are within 3.5 games of the playoffs. Phoenix is #9 in the West 3 games out, yet would be #5 in the EAST. I'd bet more people would rather watch Shaq, Steve Nash and Amare in the playoffs than the Bucks. Rockets would be #4 even though even though they are #2 in the West, so there's the opposite effect too. #6 of 16 if there werent conferences. Life isnt always fairs, still the Suns are far more deserving than those bottom East teams
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/playoffodds I hate this scenario. We would fail in the first round again if that happened.
It is updated now, we now have 100% chance to make playoff while Spurs goes down from 100% to 99.9%. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/playoffodds
I don't care what our record is as long as we don't have to play the Jazz in the first round. Honestly, I'd rather play the Nuggets, Hornets, Blazers (and possibly the Mavs) without home court advantage than play the Jazz with home court advantage.
