    cold pizza = idiots

The cold pizza crew was discussing a topic during their 1st and 10 segment titled "Rockets without Yao." I thought it would be a discussion of tmac's improved play, but instead it turned into a yao bashing session.

Skip Bayless was trying to make the point that the Rockets are BETTER WITHOUT YAO. He pointed at the 6-2 record since yao's injury, saying that the team's chemistry had improved and that dikembe gives them "an interior rebounding and shot-blocking presence that yao has never had and never will have". He continues on to say that yao has a "2 guard mentality, he likes to shoot those pretty jump shots, and he competes with tmac for those jump shots."

Darren Broussard counters by saying skip cant be serious, and that dikembe is too old to be the starting center all year long.

Then the host says, "well you cant argue with the numbers - 6 and 2 without yao and a win over a very good chicago team."

    Sigh...

Skip bayless is by far one of the worst writer/tv sports guy i have seen. he thinks he is hot s*** and is super defensive about anything. i have yet to hear a single thing out of this guys mouth that is positive about anything rockets or not. he was a yao basher when yao was a rookie and will remain so.

we didnt get blown out in any of those loses without tmac. but tmac's role in this team is clearly shown, he is our finisher and playmaker. imagine if we had tmac bringing the ball up and making decisions in the 4th instead of rafer we probably could have won all those games except maybe the first game vs the lakers.

like i tell my roomates, yao is our best player but tmac is our most important

Why do we have to listen to what they have to say. I can't stand Woody Paige. Anyways, we aren't a better team without Yao, period. What if we were 2-6, I wonder what they would say then?

Skip Bayless brings out some kind of animal rage in me. The guy is a complete moron and just says things for shock value. I often find myself with my jaw on the floor after hearing him speak. Yeah, the Rockets are better without Yao and your parents did you a favor by naming you Skip, what an idiot.

Wow. That's why I don't watch that show. Evidently Skip hasn't seen Yao play since his pre-draft workout.

OK, I pretty much watch every single Rocket game that I can from start to finish. And I have no idea what he's talking about here. I can't remember the last time I saw Yao take a single shot from further than 10 feet. So what is he talking about? Maybe he's referring to Yao's pre-draft shoot around?

I think a lot of these so called pundits just make crap up (even if they don't really believe it) just to get people like us talking about it. What's the old saying....no such thing as bad publicity?

Wow, that's just insane, most of the stuff that comes out of skips mouth is just garbage as it is.

I don't under the reason sportswriters want to devaule Yao so much.

If it were Dwight Howard or Andrew Bynum putting Yao's numbers we'd never hear the end of it from the nat media, in fact earlier in the year the media was going nuts over those 2 numbers and rarely mentioned Yao

I've never watched the show, and just from the handful of threads about it on this forum, I never will.

Is Cold Pizza on NBATV? or am I wrong and its on ESPN?

I can't say I was impressed with the analysts they had on last night on NBATV before or after the Rockets game.

Maybe NBATV can't afford good commentators?

Very ignorant. Better without Yao? Yao shooting jumpshots? My goodness! At least the other guy countered him. I agree you cannot argue with 6-2 but we still have almost 2 months to go. Let's see what the record is March 1st or therebouts.

You can judge the national guys by how much they know about your local team. Skip Bayless is an ignoramus. I see ESPN2 for about 10 seconds per year.

I liked Woody Paige. At least he had a sense of humor. He left the show probably because he hated Skip. What a terrible job to work alongside that guy. He is so cynical, so defensive, so clueless about a lot of things he said, and so arrogant. I'll be surprised if ESPN finds a permanent partner to be with Skip on Cold Pizza in 2007. No one smart about their careers and about sports would want to work alongside him.

There is no need to get upset over what he said, because we shouldn't take him seriously at all.

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Have any of them watched Yao play this season? Did they forget that the Rockets won in San Antonio with Yao and without T-Mac the night before he went down with the leg injury? Or that Yao was putting up MVP numbers before getting hurt? Or that he carried the Rockets to a victory in Washington against a red hot Gilbert Arenas and Wizards team after T-Mac left the game with back spasms? Or that after that win, they were 14-6 with T-Mac playing average at best?

Why am I even bothering? They've obviously made up their minds about Yao already and nothing he does(except MAYBE win a title) will dissuade them.

What has this guy been watching?? When Yao was playing this year especially he was dominating the paint. He does take away from T-Mac's game. Once again an ESPN show that just likes to stir up things. Cold Pizza = Cold Crap. :D
