Some NBA expert(name?) just called Francis and Mobley"The best backcourt in the NBA" Are you guys sensing that Houston may be that one team the media jumps on and overhypes? What kinda messed up world is this???? Is up now down?
It seem like Francis got more hype in college than his Rookie season in the NBA but now he is starting to blow up again.
Sorry if somebody already posted this, it has been on the front page of www.nba.com : ROCKET MEN Why are the undersized Rockets off to a 4-1 start in the super-sized Western Conference? Because of their powerful one-two punch in the backcourt. Houston's starting guards -- Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley -- are combining for 43.2 ppg, 14.4 rpg, 10.0 apg and 3.6 spg. The Rockets try to build on their stellar start tonight when they host the injury-depleted 76ers (9 p.m. ET, TNT). and inside the preview : http://www.nba.com/analysis/shootaround_phihou_011108.html WHO TO WATCH: Houston simply has the best all-around backcourt in the league in Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley. The guards are not only playing huge minutes and averaging a combined 43.2 points, they're also rebounding like big men; the 6-3 Francis and 6-4 Mobley grab 14.4 boards a game -- only New Jersey's Jason Kidd and Kerry Kittles are close to that number, teaming for 12.3 per night. Love is good!
Don't you guys think that maybe, just maybe the reason the Rockets are featured on nba.com's front page is because they're on national tv tonight? Color me pessimist, but if the Clippers had a game on national tv tonight, then they'd be on the frontpage as a great young team that's going to be challenging for a playoff spot.
I don't know BGM. Seems like all the young teams the league was hoping to showcase (CLips, Atl, Wash,Den...etc.etc.) are falling on thier collective arse's. The league is probably getting desperate to overhype somebody, so why not us?
Don't worry. The Washington Jordans will remain the most overhyped team throughout the entire season.
