NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Where will I get my ESPN burger now? http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/food/2010-06-09-espn-restaurants-closing_N.htm
To be honest ...it wasn't the economy that's the culprit. Horrible food, expensive drinks and little kids running everywhere HORRIBLE combination.
The one in DC had the most awful service I've ever seen. I've been there a few times and it always seemed very slow and empty. I think it's probably more because of the crappy service and overpriced food/drinks than the economy.
didn't think it was that great...but if i would have know, i would have made an effort to go there when I was in vegas... I like the Fox Sports Grill in Plano, Tx...not too bad, but would rather go to Champps...
Never went to one. I remembered being surprised that they didn't open one in Houston before hosting the Super Bowl there. Good thing they didn't. I've never been in to these huge sports bars. I'd rather the small local joints.
i've been to the one here in LA and the one by Disneyland the service is very hit or miss one time I had just absolutely horrible service, but the last time I was there (with Miguel actually 2 weeks ago) the service was actually pretty good. the prices were a tad higher than they should have been but i would say my experience overall at the ESPN Zones were positive though.
Of the times ive been to ESPN Zone, horrible and expensive food, crappy service, and has nothing to offer that other normal sports bars dont.
I agree, the one in DC is completely awful, the one in baltimore isn't too bad, and I liked the one in Manhattan. The service, as everyone seems to mention, is usually hit or miss. Out of the four times I've been there, I've had good service twice(Manhattan and Baltimore), adequate service once(Manhattan), and poor service once(DC, of course, had the poor service).
I'd been to the one in Anaheim, service was kind of shoddy and the prices were way more expensive than they should have been for what was pretty much bar food.
Went a couple times to the one in Disneyland in Anaheim (which they're still keeping), and if the other ones they're closing down are worse then no wonder. It wasnt that bad, I actually even had fun. Just it seemed more like an expanded cafeteria from the ESPN studio headquarters than feeling like a night out on the town. I think Fox Sports got it right by calling it Fox Sports GRILL. That gives it a more personable sports bar kinda theme even if the place really isnt. Da_juice said it best, dont make it like is getting your "ESPN burger". Or maybe the mega hot babes working at the local Fox Sports Grill made me give it more credit.
Went to the one in Denver a few times. Apparently I'm the only one in the thread that liked it and never had any problems there.
