Yes it is... Signing Dwight has nothing to do with acquiring Love... And it would take some maneuvering, not picking up delfino is one, we could sign dwight... I honestly don't when know if we would need to decline delfino since we shed salary trading ppat and Marcus... Garcia has a team option also (expiring)...

The second step would be to make a trade package for love that Kahn would accept if he is willing to trade Love... Asik, parsons, dmo, trob, picks is attractive and matches salaries...

    Indeed possible...

I don't doubt he's an upgrade over our current 4s. Or PPat (come on!). But just don't think he's worth anything near a 15 million/year contract.
I'm not sold on Josh Smith, but to me Smith seems a better fit for us than Love. A strong defender, elite finisher, solid shooter, and rebounds well. We need some help on our defense with Harden in there. It'll be our undoing. And Love adds another liability on defense.

Not sure other than in my hypothetical Minnesota doesn't need him.

If I'm trading Asik, Parsons and Lin... Even if I've already signed Dwight, I better be getting back one hell of a player. Love would be that IMO - probably best pf in the league 2 years ago. But again minny probably doesn't need Lin.

Aldridge is the other pf that would be a solid fit on the team and next to Dwight. But Portland doesn't need Lin either.

You could ignore Pf and try and upgrade sf or pg, but you don't need an upgrade in those areas as badly. You would clearly take a top 3-5 pg or sf for a Asik, Parsons, Lin package.... But I feel you'd be better of keeping one of Parsons/Lin and trying to get Love or Aldridge.

Now I'd rather keep parsons. Cheaper. Doesn't require ball in his hands as much. Can fill of with veteran or even a Beverley type if your other 4 starters are Harden, Parsons, Love, Dwight. But to reiterate... Minny and Portland don't need PG.

In any case, step 1 = sign Dwight. This is so so important because it unlocks Asiks trade value. Would you trade for Love anyway without signing Dwight? Sure. But you'd be giving up a lot on defense

It all depends on who else is on the floor. If you have Dwight in the middle, Love makes way more sense than JSmoove.

Love was 24 years old grabbing 15 rebounds, 24 points and shooting 40% from 3... why.. why do people not want this

Yet for years people wanted Al Jefferson..

    "Love is a career loser"

Big Al was on crappy teams, too.. crappy Celtics and TWolves teams..

Pek is a bad defender. Our defense would be absolutely horrid.

3-team deal would always be possible.

In a perfect world, we'd sign Paul, and trade for a PF using Lin, and the rooks.

Rubio can't shoot and can't score other than free throws (mostly bail outs from refs). You always play 4 on 5 on offense when he's on the court.

Love can't defend anyone and is a huge stat padder. Neither one of those guys is anything near a max level player. The Wolves' management is stupid. They should have traded both of them already.

Seriously??? 4 on 5 on offense with Rubio on the court??? If I didn't have principles this is one of those posts that I would call names on.

If you truly believe this I'm not going to bother explaining it to you.

Love is arguably the best PF in the game. He's an elite rebounder, and a big who can not only work the post but also hit the long distance shot. I understand his defense is shaky, but his offensive capabilities more than make up for it.

    Lin (Distributing Guard)
    Harden (Star Wing)
    Parsons (Glue Guy & Defender)
    Love (Star Big)
    Asik (Defensive Big)

That is a contending line-up, especially if everyone takes that next step. We can find a bench easy. We cannot find a guy like Love, or guys with potential like our starting line-up has.

It will be like mGasol and randolph in memphis.. Gasol pretty good rebounder but avg. 7 reb but he should average more than that.. I really like KLove but i dont think he fit the system well.. We need a PF who can shoot mid-range/3s and can defend elite 4s.. When asik is on the bench, there is a layup party. I think jsmoove fit very well because he loves to run in transition.. Let him shoot 10,000 3s a day in the offseason to improve his shooting and we're good to go ;)

Don't mind him. He's a Euroleague fanboy (formerly known as OHMSS) who predicted that Rubio would crash and burn at the NBA level, and when he didn't he took that as proof that NBA talent is inferior to their counterparts in Europe.
