First, Love's defense is not good, but he is a decent team defender. Also, Love is probably the best rebounder in the world and would be able to finish off the screen and roll which would make the Rockets offense far more efficient and explosive. Love can score inside and outside, and can handle the ball.

Asik's inability to finish off the screen and roll may be his undoing.

I could see a situation where Asik and assets are dealt for Love, and we then sign Pekovic.

    C- Pekovic

    Pekovic
    Love
    Parsons
    Harden
    Lin

The overall defense would probably improve and the offense would certainly improve.

Kevin Love in this system will get two assists a game on outlet passes alone.

Love plays no D. We can't have two no D players in our starting lineup.

With Love, you add an amazing rebounder/shooter. He would make us instant contenders. I believe Morey is holding out for Love. You can afford to wait another season as our core will get better. Let Robinson, DMo, and Smith develop in to much better prospects and then ship them off for a fringe all star type player.

    Lin
    Harden
    Parsons
    Love
    Asik

Morey is in the driver seat right now. Look for the 2015 trade deadline and witness the next contender being the Houston Rockets. We are one star and another really good bench player/small forward from contending for a LONG time! Be patient guys, we are very close.

Love's elite D? He is definitely not an elite defender. Below average. He's an elite rebounder.
As I said, he's an upgrade over our current 4s. But is he worth a max contract? Definitely don't think so.

Yes. Whenever someone doesn't even try to respond and instead posts an unfunny joke it's worth it to call him out. :)

That's the point of a forum isn't it? Discussion.
Love at max money, to me, is insane when you have James Harden on the roster. 2 no defense players. Only Harden is super efficient offensively. We're not going to be able to guard anyone and won't make up for it with efficient scoring.

If Adelman resigns after this season... much greater chance of nabbing KLove.

Love is a primadonna. I bet he's already thinking of a way to sign with the Lakers or force his way there. Don't want him.

He can't make that much per year on a contract. It's called the collective bargaining agreement. You see, the players and owners agree to this document. And from then on, you can only sign for so much money. For him, it'll probably be 30% of the cap (since he'll be named to 2 all-nba teams I'm guessing). This puts him at around 18 million per year. If he doesn't make another all-nba team, he'll be eligible for 25% of the cap, putting him at around 15 million.

Facts are fun, and eating them up makes you smarter.

Greg Smith is just fine at the PF position. He should be starting at the 4. Asik and Smith could be a good front court combo.

These are two different issues here. As a couple of posters mentioned earlier, can someone PLEASE EXPLAIN why Rubio is getting the max???? He's worse than Jeremy Lin.
