Did yall watch this game? I just finished it a bit ago (I recorded it) The Brazilian coach just basically threw his hands in the air and was like.. what can we do to stop him. Great performance in a great game.
I DVR'd and watched it tonight too. Easily the best game I've seen in a LONG time. Reminded me of that Texas v Texas A&M 2 OT thriller a few years back... Guys were making plays all over the court in that one too. I'm really happy for Luis - if you watched them after the game you could see how much this win meant to him and his team. They are a over-achieving short handed bunch who define what it means to be a team.
Is it me or does Scola always makes the second free throw when he tries to intentionally miss it. I remember one game I forgot against who, but it was when Tmac was on the team, Scola tried to miss the second free throw and banked it in. lol
With Yao in his downside of his career, Scola should be the man we go-to-guy from here on. He has amazing post work and unlike Yao he is clutch. He plays alot like Gasol but probaly not as gifted but the difference is'nt all that much.
Even when he tries to lose he wins. He is, the most insteresting man on earth. YAO SCOLAAAAAAAA BATTIER MARTIN BROOKS
It was crazy. For those of you who haven't watched this game. Remember that 44 point game that Scola had, when he was making baskets falling backwards flatfooted in the lane as if the rim was 10 feet wide? He sucked in that game compared to what he did at the end versus Brazil. Scola's highlights are the entire 4th quarter.
Too bad we signed Scola to a big contract. He has obviously lost his drive to play basketball. Spoiler
I saw this game live (at least I think it was live), man it was really incredible. He was draining everything, making great defensive plays, and being a great leader overall. I hope he carries all this confidence with him to training camp.

Usually, I'm for USA basketball and I have a hard time rooting for Argentina for anything. But if the US faces Argentina in the semis, I'm not sure who I'm going to root for. Team USA sends their B-team to the world championships, but Argentina takes it seriously. None more so than Scola. I'm glad Durant and Chauncey are playing for the US, but I like Scola more than anyone on the US. I wish the US would take the world championships seriously--it would lend that much more legitimacy to the WC.
Unlike the rest of us you must have some special and privileged information! Some are expecting just the opposite!
I can't believe we have a player like Scola on our team. I mean, it always feels like he's playing in the background on the Rockets even though he can do stuff like he displayed here. Man the Rockets have all the potential in the world next season. I just keep looking at our lineup and can't understand how we won't be at least right outside the top4.
Just because we send our "B-Team", we aren't taking these games seriously? We send our "B-Team" because we have that much talent over here. USA has yet to lose a game this tourney. If they aren't taking it seriously, then this team must be the greatest ever. We're talking about a new that consist of new guys as opposed to other national teams that have guys that have been playing on the same team for years. Sure, they've looked sloppy at times but any team you put together in a couple months would look like that.
I was thinkin the same thing. I like how he just put Scola up by putting Yao down, very sneaky. I believe in both big fellas.
He lacks height and high jumps so that he can outplay his man but still i think in a one on one situation he is very dangerous even in the NBA
