http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3273625 A day after losing outside linebacker Charlie Anderson to the Miami Dolphins, the Texans reached a three-year, $4 million deal with Seahawks linebacker Kevin Bentley. Bentley was considered a valuable role player on the free agent market because he is an exceptional special teams player along with having the ability to fill in as a starter when necessary. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 2002 draft by the Cleveland Browns. He spent three seasons with the Seahawks and started five games during that span. -- John Clayton, ESPN.com
Don't know too much about Bentley, but 3 years for $4M isn't a big deal. Anybody have information on Diles, a draft pick last year? Supposedly he was really impressing the Texan coaches last season.
Smith already said they will add another CB. I'm sure we'll pick one up at some point in the draft, guys like Malcom Jenkins and DRC could be available.
Nice insurance to have, since Charlie Anderson just left and Danny Clark is a free agent (restricted I think). Kubiak and Smith like these guys who play well on special teams too. Zac Diles may see more time on the field next season too, so it will be an interesting battle at LB in training camp. Diles is quick and supposedly very smart on the field (like DeMeco), but just doesn't have a whole lot of size. I could see him being in on passing downs as more of a coverage OLB, or if he really impresses they may move DeMeco outside part time to rush the passer.
