From Insider: We hear the Texans will look to acquire a No. 2 wide receiver in the offseason to pair with Andre Johnson. A source close to the Texans doesn't expect any coaching staff changes in Houston now that DL coach Todd Grantham reportedly is out of the mix for the Dolphins' defensive coordinator vacancy. The Dolphins also requested permission to interview Texans OL coach Joe Pendry for their offensive coordinator job, but they were denied by the club. --------------------------------- That would be awesome to run 2 nice wides on the outside with Gaffney and Bradford on the inside.
For the last time, this is because of Capers, NOT Palmer. Palmer has traditionally aired it out. The guy was a coach on the Oilers run 'n' shoot staff, ran the run 'n' shoot as a head coach at Boston University, was the o-cordinator in New England when Bledsoe was a prolific passer, and also coached in Jacksonville during Brunell's peak years when the team was scoring around 400 points a year. Capers is the guilty party with his play not to lose attitude.
Maybe if they built a line they could get the ball down the field. Maybe if they had a stud cutting loose on the D they could get the ball. Walker said a lot when he carped about D schemes. Have the Texans ever won a game when their opponents brought their 'A' game?
I was thinking the same thing. Porter and Johnson would be the best combo in the league. Carr shouldn't have anything to cry about then.
I do not think he has cried about his recievers... you can have the best but if your oline sucks it does not matter
Right our o-line played bad at times but if the Texans land a big time #2 wideout like insider says they will then David will have to take his game to the next level. Those 50 sacks were not all the O-line's fault.
is that unusual.. for a team to deny permission to talk to a coach when it would be a promotion for him.. for some reason I was thinking teams usually let a coach interview with another club if it was a higher level position.. maybe not though.. I just thought that was how all the coordinators were allowed to interview for head coaching jobs. It's actually kinds surprisnig though. we arent exactly known for a great OL yet, but the coach must be good
I don't buy that they will go after another receiver. Gaffney has proven he is a good route runner with excellent hands and Armstrong is just waiting for his opportunity to shine. This team has way too many other weaknesses to bother with pursuing receivers right now. Insider is probably just got bad info or is tossing some crap against the wall.
Isn't a rather large part of winning not allowing the other team to bring their "A game"? You act like a team has no effect on the performance of the other. Utter crapola.
