tracy needed to fire his trainer immediately after the 05-06 season. he was beyond terrible. i'm not fitness expert, but i could have seen that the regimen hall put out for tmac was atrocious.
that guy hit it on the head, and one of the most durable players in the league in derek fisher agrees. he said last year in an interview that the reason he's so durable is b/c he trains his CORE.
Good read. T-mac has said this before, but for some reason i'm convinced he can come back to all-star form.
WOW! after reading that article i know more about t-mac than i knew him his entire career(as a fan of course). i don't get mcgrady, with wayne hall as his trainer he never topped 80 games in his career yet he sticks with him all these yrs. In 2002, did not hear about tim grover or something i mean kobe and jordan were his best products. Was he not friends with kobe at that time? Couldn't he advised tmac or something?. Makes me mad cause injuries has almost destroyed tmac career The science behind his rehab is eye-opening. Even though i have my doubts, I hope he comes back strong.
Well, here's hoping T-Mac returns to form. He can then stat pad on our crappy team for a half a season, before Morey ships him to a contender for expirings and young talent.
Good post. I believe that Tmac is finally ready this season. I think with his old trainer, the technique wasn't good so his body is always breaking down. I mean all they really do is weight lifting and conditioning. So therefore, after so many seasons in the league and all he's doing is weight lifting and conditioning can wear and tear the body. With all this new work out he is doing, it would help him out much more than just weight training and conditioning. If you really think about it, with Tim Grover, Tmac is working on his core's strength and learning to use every muscle in his body instead of his knees. This is the reason why Kobe and Jordan can be so healthy and don't really deal with any major health issues. When Tmac was training with his old trainer, they do a lot of weight lifting and if you add the long Nba season to that, it can be very hazardous to his knees. That is why he had knee problems so early. Weight lifting works well for NFL but for the NBA, working on the core of their body is the best way to really improve everything. Its like a balance that he finally has. He was imbalance his whole career. So hopefully, this is the first season where his body is finally balance and he can go out and play his heart out without any doubts in the back of his head.
I don't think that is going to happen. If you think about it, what contending team that would want that contract. Plus, if we trade Tmac, we will not get the same value back. No matter how much people think Tmac sucks, he is still the best player we have on this squad and he is the only guy on this team that can probably match up with Dwade, Kobe, and Lebron when healthy. There is no way we can get someone for Tmac that can bring to the game just as much as he can. Tmac is the only superstar that we will have for so many years to come. The best thing I believe is to resign him and slowly build on that and hopefully we can find a good young star to play alongside him. Because there is no possible way we can get a good player for Tmac except for bad contracts which we do not need on this team
You be convinced. I will be happy as anyone if this is true this time, but I'm not holding my breath. Every year I am convinced Tmac is gonna be that player he was in 04-05 and every year he disappoints. Then he goes to the offseason blabs about how he is in the best shape of his life, this and that, then gets "hurt." Tmac I hope you come back strong, not for you, but because the Rockets could use you, but if you don't have fun trying to get a contract next summer somewhere else.
I don't believe for a second that he would have gone to the Chicago gym earlier in his career to play at a top level, it's all about the contract which happens to expire this year. Good luck to him, just hope its not the Rockets who have give him the max contract, because I'm 100% sure the following year he's going to go back to fat old bad backnee T-mac. He's already stated a few years back that you can't go too hard in this league if you want a long career, he did his part!
I'm really happy about this, I think one poster made an entire thread detailing how crappy Wayne Hall's technique is, and you can find traces of it in the article: His whole body was imbalanced from basically his shoulder blades down to his feet," Reavy says. "He was developing a lot of back problems ... He was developing strength in an imbalanced fashion. And what I see in Tracy, in general, he had no core strength, he couldn't hold a plank." This was generally what that poster said, Tmac was destroying his body with such lousy forms. I'm glad he finally decided to switch to Grover, and am really excited for this season. A superstar can really do wonders for a team's strength, and when Tmac is healthy and motivated he's up there with the best of them.
