i got home after a night class , turned on sportscenter hoping to find out if the Rockets had beaten the Sonics.. sportscenter was not showing it, so i turned to espn news. To my delight the rockets won, now i wanna see some highlights, then i remembered Hey THIS IS ESPN. BUT hoping to be wrong i waited , now i was tired as hell from class, but i wanted to see the rockets since i dont live in Houston and do not have NBA TV. i STAyed up for an hour hoping to see some rockets highlights. THEY SHOWED A BUNCH OF SONICS HIGHLIGHTS WTF THEY LOST . i SAW a few of T-Macs' bUT NONE of Yao's WTF!!! Yao could have a freakin monster game where he scores 100 points, 100 rebounds, 100 blocks, 100 assists and they probaly wouldnt even mention it and just show a bunch of Lebron James clips. If Yao gets dunked on i am willing to bet the farm that espn will replay every hour on the hour. or if some nobody puts up a lucky shot with Yao guarding him, its automatically a top ten play on sportcenter.
yeah. That did kind of piss me off, but I wasn't surprised. They do that most of the time the Rockets play. They always tend to show the highlights of the other team, regarless of the outcome.
Try watching espn hoping to see some ASTROS highlights. It was a little better last season, but before that espn didn't know that the Astros were even a team.
You mean the same Lebron Jame's tomahawk dunks that get overhyped? I forget who posted it on the Dish forum but Lebron's dunks are bland. He can do a one handed tomahawk where his leg is bent at a 90 degree angle. Or that one handed tomahawk where it's bent at a 59 degree angle. Or how about that amazing dunk where Lebron brings it up with one hand and slams it in tomahawk fashion on a fastbreak. Or how about that tomahawk slam where he takes two steps before jumping. Or that one slam against the Knicks where he did this amazing dunk I've never seen before. It was on a fastbreak and he was running at full speed and took 3 steps cuz' the NBA doesn't call travelling anymore and jumps at the dotted lines in the paint with a one handed tomahawk. The man is just so creative with his dunks and I can see why ESPN loves to show his amazing creativity! It's a damn shame he didn't go into the dunk contest, cuz' I think he coulda won it with a tomahawk slam.
Yeah, espn is really going downhill lately. Is anyone else having trouble sleeping? I got in bed at 10 and still havent been able to fall asleep. I have to meet with some vendors at 9:00. This sucks.
1) Enjoy the BBS till the early hours of the morning. 2) Have a Red Bull for breakfast. 3) Come home from work/school. 4) Repeat.
Yeah, it seem like the story of the game was "how could the Sonics lose" and not how the Rockets came from behind to win a close one on the road.
I knowwwww! (Jerry Seinfeld voice) I don't watch Sportscenter much lately, but I had a friend who complained to me last night about it and described how he watched ESPN for like 2 or 3 hours with not one mention of the Rockets. I've stoody pretty firm for a while now on the fact that Houston sports teams never get enough respect from ESPN. The Astros got more than usual last season, but that was only 'cause of the Rocket (who I love and deserves every bit of attention). Really, so true.
Please allow me to quote Da-Glyde's extremely concise and accurate respond again. "It's funny because it's true."
Man some people just watch too much TV I guess. Instead of complaining about how bad ESPN is (which I have for a while to people), why not just stop watching it? I know it's difficult not getting to see how the new Dream Job winner will do on his first live broadcast rolleyes: ) or how you need to hear some idiot newspaper reporter-turned-talking-head talk about what a team is going to do now that they're losing (win maybe? seriously it amazes me how some of these people can say the same thing over and over again that isn't even news; who does ESPN think they are, CNN???). I only watch ESPN for games, never for the crap they market as Sportscenter.
This is how ESPN would do it: Yao got dunked on by LeBron James!!!!!! However Yao scores 100 points, 100 rebounds, 100 blocks, 100 assists and led the Rockets to a win
LOL, I thought the same thing the other morning. But it is not surprising - when we won back to back NBA titles, ESPN was not showing us any love. Why would that change now?
I agree. I think some people here are just annoyed at the lack of respect for Houston in the national media. Not that they really care for sportscenter. Personally, I gave up on sportscenter years ago and pretty much use the internet for post-game news. Only when something really big happens, like T-Mac's 13 pts in 35 seconds performace, do I feel the urge to turn to espn for the highlights.
Tune in to watch the Matador chase an inside straight on "TILT"; he's not in Kansas anymore! Then, catch a special quintuple encore presentation of "3", the director's cut. Only on ESPN!
