As much as I love David Thorpe (he puts together one of the best scouting reports I've read), he's picked the Lakers all 6 times, 7 including this one. If his predictions held up, the Rockets would have gone fishing by now.
their scouting report also predicted LA to win game 6 so we'll prove em wrong again!!! we just need to limit turnovers and hit open shots and get scola involved and i see a rockets victory... i like how adelman says, its not about what LA does, its about WHAT HOUSTON does GO ROCKETS!!!
What's the point of a scouting report for a game 7. Everyone knows exactly what each team needs to do. It's a matter of execution. If we can hang with them through 3 quarter, I believe their self doubt will get the better of them and they will crack. Our boys just need to keep the crowd out of the game.
Rox is still the underdog, that's fine with me. A win will shatter this Lakers team - Mr. Jackson will have to retire, the same will occur to Derek Fisher, Kobe Bryant won't have that smirk smile again on his face and will leave LA crying, Paul Gasol is deemed as the biggest disappointment in LA etc etc. On the other hand, Rox has nothing to lose. What they have achieved so far is much higher, second only to the two championship years. The team has grown up very fast. With a healthy Yao and TMac next year, the sky is the limit .......... Go Rox!
This is considered a "scouting" report from a paid journalist at ESPN? Wow, I could write something 10 times as long and more interesting than this. He didn't even formulate a single paragraph. Nothing really thoughtful in his analysis, you could remove both team names and replace them with anything and it will read fine.
IS IT JUST ME OR IS DAVID THORPE IN HIS LATEST ESPN ARTICLE ON THE LAKERS-ROCKETS GAME 7 EXTREMELY BIASED TOWARDS LAKERS COMPLETELY DESCRIBING A STRATEGY 101 FOR THE LAKERS TO COUNTER THE ROCKETS AND NO CONTRIBUTION WHATSOEVER TO WHAT STRATEGY HOUSTON SHOULD EMPLOY TO WIN GAME 7... in the article he totally describes on each minor detail lakers should improve on and offers strategy and tactics solutions to counter the Rockets in each department he has picked out. Such as how Gasol should angle himself so Brooks is forced baseline instead of middle of the court, or Ariza should stand next to Scola to deny him the ball each time. However all he says about how Rockets is improve is---oh rockets are fine I'm saying nothing to help them... I mean I'm sure Rockets did not play a perfect game...because there is always room for improvement when it comes to basketball...thrope offers nothing for the Rockets... thorpe = lakers homer __________________
Fair enough, but it's not like this "scouting report" helps the Lakers in their gam preparation. Everything written in the article is something any one of us could have cobbled together. So all of these guy's riding the Laker's jock can bite me.
