Ok I have a question, It's probably because I really haven't seen Blair as much as I should have but why does Blair get so much more love then Bud? Blair has the advantage in boards by 3pg and fg% but Bud shoots 3s at a fairly high percentage, scores about 1.4 more ppg, much better FT shooter and plays more mpg? So I just don't know why Blair is looked upon so much more highly then Bud?
He was a prominent player on the Pittsburgh team that went far in the NCAA tournament, had a few monster games early in the year, and is averaging pretty good numbers as a backup.
CBud is a wing player. ESPN Rookie Rankings: 1. Tyreke Evans 2. Brandon Jennings 3. Stephen Curry 4. Darren Collison 5. Marcus Thornton 6. Ty Lawson 7. James Harden 8. DeJuan Blair 9. Taj Gibson 10. MPG |FG%|FT%|3PTM|PTS|REB| AST|ST|BLK|TO 21:18 |.576 |.773|0.0 |7.7| 6.8| 0.0|0.4 |1.8 |1.0 in the past month, 4 mpg less on the season and averages are down accordingly. Thats a damn solid stat lime IMO to be the 17th best rookie.
See and that stat line is better then Blair's but we automatically raise an eyebrow while with Blair we just assume he deserves the spot. Maybe I just need to keep my eye on Blair during the playoffs to see the big deal.
so in less minutes Blair is getting more rebounds, shoots a good FG%, and scores close to Budinger? isn't that enough reason to like Blair given budinger is a quite good player and yet Blair argueably out-performed him statistically? keep in mind that when Blair was given minutes, he had some absolutely monster games to demonstrate his abilities, any hype about this guy is more or less justified IMHO. -- having said that, I still believe it's a right decision for us NOT drafting Blair in the past draft, given Blair's medical history though...
When he's on a roll he can get 20 pionts and 20 rebounds. I also think he gets a sympathy vote because he was passed on by soo many teams.
Chase is obviously getting all the attention here, and deservedly so, but how about some love for Jordan Hill?? He basically went from sure-fire bust who was barely getting minutes in New York, all the way to 19th best rookie based solely on his work here in Houston. He's been getting better each and every game he plays.....gotta love the fact that Morey was able to get him in the deal with Martin. In Morey We Trust!
I would have thought that Collison deserved a spot on the 1st team, his play with out CP3 was amazing,
Maybe if Blake Griffin played.... I think last years was really good too. Rose, Beasley, Mayo, Westbrook, Kev Love, Gallinari, E. Gordon, B. Lopez.
