personally, I'm not sure if its a good idea to pick him if its not 100% that he plays. I could care less about him being at the draft, or even the rocky mountain review, but what if after we pick him #1, they say he can't come at all? Dare is a good word, risk is another that applies. Bottom line, I think and/or feel the Rockets know this will work. Someone has to put their name, neck on the line to make all pieces in the puzzle fit. It seems that role will fall to the Rockets. I don't think the Chinese and Sharks will use any gall here. They have it, I assure you, just on reserve. They want Ming in the NBA worse than anyone stateside. To renege on a deal like this would have international ramifications on social, cultural, political, business, and athletic levels. They just want to see we care and have guts. We do, so do the Rockets. That's when the excitement really starts out. Don't be surprised what the Rockets do after that. Final thought: if the Rockets passed on Ming due to some paperwork impropriety, he would fall no further than the 7th pick. New York would snag Ming in a millisecond, if we passed on him. Correct paperwork or not. Other teams can hope or wish. I say proceed with confidence. "If you pick him, he will come"
I totally agree with what fred futurestar said. Yao Ming can't back out of the draft now, thus if the Rockets don't take him, the other teams would be scrambling to get him, especially New York. He will come if he gets picked, because the Chinese have too much too loose if he doesn't. -G'day-
Im a huge Rocket fan, I love this team, heck my girlfriend, of 4 yrs, told me to choose between going to games, hanging at clutchcity, and watching the games on TV.....or Her! Well I miss her every now and then. Basically what Im saying is IM NERVOUS....these 21 hours or so are KILLING me, I wish it was over already!!!!!!!! OK Im done with that now. I think Houston should show the World (china) and the League (especially New York) that we have balls...and we are gonna dare to be great! PS I have a new girlfriend now, She is a Rocket's fan :0 )
Hey what did your girlfriend say? I hope I didnt get anyone in trouble lol.....Well the 2 of us we to be married, however I cant spend the rest of my life with someone who isnt a fan too. My Dad told me he didnt care who I married once, So to be funny I brought home an awesome blonde, but I had her wear a Karl Malone jersry, My dad all but kicked her out of our house, it was great. Anyways....that was a waste of a post I guess
