    C'mon Tyrus Thomas.....

By the way what exactly is the Bulls deal? Is it Salmons, Miller, and TT for T-mac?

Makes sense with Sheridan saying that Walsh and Dolan will meet tomorrow to setup the next step.

I'm just not excited about those 2 teams. I like the idea of draft picks more than the players mentioned.

Is the NY deal the same as before or did Walsh take out the 2012 1st? I'm curious to see what Chicago's offering..

    McGrady
Chris Sheridan:The Houston Rockets and New York Knicks are "making progress" in their Tracy McGrady trade discussions, according to a source close to the talks, and Knicks president Donnie Walsh is expected to speak with owner Jim Dolan on Wednesday to discuss the parameters of the deals that have been discussed, and how best to proceed forward.

Several sources say the main holdup to this point has been the Rockets' insistence on asking for at least one future No. 1 pick as the price for taking on Jeffries, who is owed $6.9 next season. Dolan has always been amenable to throwing $3 million cash into the kitty to make a deal go through, but a decade of sacrificing first-round draft picks has left him hesitant to sign off on letting another one go (The Knicks owe their own 2010 pick to Utah).

The Rockets are believed to be seeking the Knicks' 2012 first-round pick, along with the option to swap first-round picks in 2011, and there are unresolved issues regarding lottery protection on the draft picks.

But the bottom line for New York is that trading Jeffries opens up nearly $7 million in additional cap space for next summer, giving the Knicks the flexibility to not only make a max offer to LeBron James, but also choose between retaining All-Star David Lee, or trying to use Lee in a sign-and-trade for Chris Bosh.

If the teams swap McGrady, Brian Cook and Joey Dorsey for Larry Hughes, Jeffries and Jordan, the Rockets would drop almost $2 million below the luxury tax threshold and would be eligible for a $4-plus million tax redistribution payment.

If Al Harrington was put in the trade instead of Hughes, and Cook was removed, the financial savings for Houston would be about the same. As things stand now, the Rockets are $2.7 over the tax threshold.

Three way deal would be great:

    Hou: TT, Salmons

    NY: T-mac

    Chi: Harrington

Chicago wants Harrington, NY wants T-mac, and I want TT so let's get it done!

Meanwhile, New York also has initiated discussions with the Bulls about a Thomas swap. The Knicks are willing to offer Chicago Al Harrington for Thomas and Jerome James. But although Harrington would be a plus for the Bulls this season, Chicago has been hoping to get a future asset (preferably a first-round pick or a good player) in return for Thomas.

It's been posted on ESPN now.
    Sources: Rockets mull T-Mac offers

    Sources: Rockets mull T-Mac offers
    By Marc Stein
    ESPN.com

The Houston Rockets have narrowed their long-running quest to trade Tracy McGrady to offers from the New York Knicks and Chicago Bulls and plan to choose between the offers Wednesday, according to sources with knowledge of the Rockets' thinking.

One source close to the process told ESPN.com that the Rockets, after intense talks with both teams leading up to Thursday's trading deadline, are determined to finalize a deal for McGrady and move on with their season.
The source said Tuesday night: "I expect it to happen tomorrow."

New York has been atop McGrady's wish list since his camp and the Rockets mutually agreed in December to part company and search for a workable trade before the deadline. Yet sources say that the Knicks are being asked to part with rookie forward Jordan Hill and possibly multiple future first-round picks to convince Houston to take back Jared Jeffries' $6.9 million contract for next season, which is the only way New York can make the deal happen without recruiting a third team to help facilitate the deal.

ESPN.com's Chad Ford reported earlier Tuesday that the Knicks -- even though shedding Jeffries' contract would be a massive boost for their 2010 free-agent plans -- were trying to get Houston to agree to a package of Larry Hughes Jeffries and Hill for McGrady, Joey Dorsey and Brian Cook, without including a 2012 first-round pick.
Although the complete specifics of the Bulls' proposal could not be immediately confirmed, Chicago has multiple expiring contracts to package in a deal for McGrady's $22.5 million expiring contract. Those include longtime Rick Adelman favorite Brad Miller, Jerome James and the increasingly coveted Tyrus Thomas, who is being pursued in separate trades by several teams, including New York, San Antonio and Denver.

The Chicago Tribune reported on its Web site Tuesday night that the Bulls were still trying to recruit a third team interested in Kirk Hinrich to participate in a McGrady deal, since the Rockets are unwilling to take on Hinrich. One source told ESPN.com that Miller and Thomas are the Bulls most coveted by Houston, which has also resisted the Bulls' attempts to include John Salmons in the trade.

The Los Angeles Lakers' attempts to acquire Hinrich have stalled because they want to surrender Sasha Vujacic's contract in the same trade, but the defending champions have been unable to find a taker for Vujacic.
McGrady has been working out in Chicago with noted personal trainer Tim Grover for much of the past six weeks in hopes that the Rockets and his agent, Arn Tellem, could broker a deal that would get him back on the court this season.
