Would be a terrible trade. Just trading an injury prone player for another. Plus McGrady is a hell of a lot better... They both trained with Grover didn't they?

glad they did gilbert has not fully recovered from his injuries and his contract is beyond terrible and still has many years left

would rather see mcgrady stay in streets rest of the season and have expire than see gilbert on the team

gilbert is a great player but too many questions if he can ever recover his athleticism of seasons past

Good, Arenas was once a pretty good player a couple of years ago but so was McGrady. Not worth the deal, I admire Arenas' work ethic, but his game is so hair-ripping. Very very poor shot selection and he needs the ball to be effective. Good job Houston, Morey you remain The Man.

Yep. Besides him being injury prone and an albatross of a contract, Gilbert is another player who needs the balls in his hands all the time to be effective. He is not a very good fit for this team even if he were healthy.

The rockets will hold Tmac till the trade deadline. If they couldn't trade him by then, there would be a buyout.

McGrady is better in that he expires at the end of this season?

Arenas certainly has the 'on the court' form... but he needs to keep bringing it and more for quite a few years yet to make his ugly contract worthwhile!

Glad we said no, as usual Morey is handling the situation excellently. He's not jumping into any deals, it's nice to know we're in good hands with him.

YoYo, I'm not saying it was a good offer, but arenas is getting his burst back. Just like amare, he probably won't be the same, but he's getting back to that explosive guy. His age and contract does bring questions

Doesnt sound like a buyout would be realistic from that.

No buyout for now! After the deadline, if they still couldn't trade Tmac, there would be a buyout becaude Tmac wouldn't have the expiring contract value by then, and it is meaningless to hold him.

I think it's interesting the Wizards have given up on Arenas already. Smart trade offer by them as their only long term obligations would be Jamison and Butler, both better system players than Arenas (who isn't explosive or smart enough to dominate the ball).

Still no reason to but buy him out.
Insurance pays us for games he misses so it's not a question of money.

Why would the Rockets do HIM a favor and let him walk to join a contender for peanuts? No way Rockets buy him out if only to spite him(which he deserves)
