According to that dolt, Chad Ford: Insider, no link... Houston Rockets: Tracy McGrady has broken out of his early-season funk, averaging 26 and 6 in his last five. Yao Ming appears to have turned the corner too, averaging 18 and 10 in his last five. But after T-Mac and Yao, the talent drop-off is so deep, and Jeff Van Gundy remains so stubborn, it's tough to see the Rockets breaking into the top eight in the West. Some will blame T-Mac. Others are pointing the finger at Yao or Van Gundy. But the truth is basketball is a five-on-five sport, and the Rockets are only putting two players on the floor. As good as they both are, that's a tough burden for anyone to bear. Insider preseason prediction: 6th in West Insider revised prediction: 11th in West
you know what I have to agree with him.. If we continue to play the same way and continue to achieve the same results we are destined to be a lottery team. the first 6 are pretty much a lock. in particular order. Spurs (title contenders) Mavs (also have a chance at the title) Kings (always been contenders but the window is closing) Suns (playoff experience will be there downfall) Sonics (playoff experience will be there downfall) Minnesota (should be contenders but having internal issues) that leaves 2 spots. Lakers/Denver/Portland have the next best record.. we should finish 10th? who did they put above us? I still think we could have a nice run and become a playoff team if we somehow get our act together. J
As pathetic as Chad Ford is, he happens to get this one correct. Of course, if you threw a thousand balls into the ocean, one of them is bound to get wet...
Wow, that's a bold prediction. Let's look at this from another angle: Rockets current position in standings : 11th in West Insider revised prediction : 11th in West That insider subscription fee is really paying off.
If things don't change...there is a good possibility that we won't make the playoffs. With the Suns and Sonics playing extremely well, I don't see how we will be able to compile better records than them. 1. Spurs 2. Mavs 3. Wolves 4. Suns 5. Kings 6. Lakers 7. Nugs 8. Sonics This is really dissapointing, especially since I had the Rockets at #4 before the season.
Just because Chad Ford said so, I'm more convinced than ever that we'll be in the playoffs. If only we could get Charles Barkkley to say it too, We'd be in for sure.
First it's 6th, now it's 11th, maybe in a month or so it'll be around 8th, or 13th. Geez the way this guy flip-flops, he should run for President.
WE have a pretty good record against the suns right? Let us be 8th and let the suns be 1st seed. . I don't mind the amare vs yao battle
Long way to go this season. I still think the Rockets will finish 8th and the Grizzlies 7th in the West. Sonics, Lakers , and/or Nuggets wil end up dropping off the map. Jeez...Houston is 1 game behind the 8th spot, 1 1/2 behind 7th, and 4 games out of 5th with 56 games to go. I am keeping my eyes on the Sonics and we are 8 games behind them 54 games to go for us and 58 to go for them. After December our brutal schedule will be over(10 sets of back to backs with 3 4 games in 5 nights thrown in for good measure). My guess: Seattle goes 20-38 from here on out and Memphis will be 34-20. Last year on December 30, the Grizz were 15-17. We are still going to make the playoffs barring even more horrendus injuries.
Ford is a chump. We should rise to 9, 10 at worst. Clippers are slipping. Only way we make playoffs is if Melo reinjures his ankle and is out for two months, or there is a gigantic mutiney within the LA Kobes. Evan
