It all depends on how we do in the playoffs right?? (And how the Warriors do as well.)

If we're rolling at that time, we could get in, sweep the Spurs in 4 games, destroy the Thunder in 5 games, and take the Warriors to 7 games... in that scenario, I'd REALLY like our chances for getting Durant.

If we do well in the playoffs, I'm sure we'll be the favorites to get him.

On the flip side, if we do poorly (i.e., get swept by the Spurs in 4 games).. well then...

To be clear though, the Rockets will likely be one of the better landing spots for Durant so it isn't as far fetched as some are making it sound. The only problem is that there there could be a better landing spot out there.

I tend to agree with you unless Harden knows something we don't know.... wouldn't be shocked to see Morey bend over and let KD and JH pick the coach and have huge say in roster moves....... perhaps KD wants the type of control LBJ has.

I'd be really, really curious to see what Morey does if we lose out on Durant and Dwight walks..

To be fair, Nick, part of the reason we're "much worse" than OKC is because they have Durant. Remember: we beat them already this season, and we might've beaten them last week if the refs hadn't covered the spread.

I'm not quite buying into all that click-bait b.s. of Durant to the Warriors.

Some guys don't necessarily want to be in a gigantic market.

Houston is a pretty good organization. I assume we'll have a different coach by the start of next season anyway.

Now, do I think we'll get Durant? I won't hold my breath. We have a chance. I wouldn't put all my eggs in that basket, to be sure. Even if KD whispered sweet nothings into Harden's ear, the Thunder might just sneak into the WC Finals...at which point, all bets are off as far as leaving OKC.

    Good post repped.
Possibly an effort to raise the leverage. Because right now our leverage is minuscule.

I like our odds of landing Durant over the odds I give us getting through the Warriors in the next year or two without landing a Durant caliber piece.

    They are that good.

doesn't matter how they do in the playoffs. The plan will be to go after KD regardless of what happens for the Rockets. Now if you're saying this through KD's pov then yes it may or may not have an affect on this but at the end of the day Morey is going to pursue KD when he gets the chance. Thats been his goal for a long time.

This is why you swing for the fences. You'll strikeout alot (Melo, Bosh, etc.) but if you land the homer you win!
