I know this might have been posted in another thread somewhere but just wanted to put it out in case it wasn't. Is this not a bit too much and too long for a guy that only avg'd 9 pts, 3 brds, and low numbers all around?
Hehe, we've had a looooooong discussion about the Spurs, Malik Rose, and the worthiness of his big deal over in this thread: http://bbs.clutchcity.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=37956. But in any case - at least it's now confirmed that Rose is getting 7yrs at $42m/season. Now, who else are the Spurs going to overpay?
Try 9 points and 6 boards in 20 minutes a game. Rose is one of the best 6th men in the game. Had he hit the open market then the mid level exception for 6 years was his price.
OK, so SA should have let him walk for 6 years and $35 mil elsewhere. At least then they wouldn't have "overpaid" him. Yeah. It's so easy to find an excellent 6th man nowadays...
