According to ESPN Radio, Avery Johnson appeared on 103.3 FM in Dallas to report that Stackhouse will be suspended for Game 5.

I didnt think it warranted a suspension but they will be shorthanded for game 5 in Miami.

That's funny, because all the TV people were saying it was just a good, hard foul.

What the hell is the point of doing this, during the NBA FINALS? There's only a few games left in the season. Let them play, and let the best team win.

I apologize that there isnt a link provided. It seems as if ESPN Radio hasnt updated their site to reflect this news.

According to reports.....Avery Johnson actually called in to 103.3 espn in Dallas to confirm that stackhouse had been suspended and will not suit up for game 5.

I wish it had been Dirk LOL but ill take it.....GO HEAT!!!

The Mavs only have 4 real scoring options: Dirk, Stack, Terry, and Howard. Howard's been held down throughout this series, and Dirk hasn't been able to dominate yet. Terry saved their bacon in game 1, Stack in game 2. Last night they couldn't get anyone going.

Taking Stackhouse out of the equation puts a slew of pressure on Dirk and Terry. I'm ready to write Howard off at this point. Miami's got to be ecstatic about this.

I think the NBA is really going overboard with their suspensions these days, but it's their perogative, I suppose.

    Are you freaking kidding.

    That is outraegous.

Unbelievable penalty for a simple foul.

Executives up top seem to be getting closer and closer to NBA tyrants.

The NBA is suspending players for sissy fouls while at the same time outlawing tights.

I think David Stern is conflicted.

I agree with you. I think its poor sportmanship when you intentially foul someone. If it's against the rules, you should benefit from doing it. I don't want my kid doing that kind of crap. Just because Shaq is bigger than everyone else, doesn't mean you can try to knock his ass out when you foul him.

    Exactly.

Personally I would have ejected him at the most, and let him play Game 5, but going by the precedent that has been set in these playoffs, the NBA had no choice but to suspend Stackhouse for what he did. He bodychecked a guy going up for a layup and on top of that he led with his forearm/elbow near the guy's head. If Posey got suspended for his blindside of Hinrich...

    Hopefully you get my point.
