http://insider.espn.go.com/insider/rumorcentral?sport=nba What are your thoughts on E. Curry? I'm not sure about his mental approach and/or work ethic, but I love his size and hands around the rim. I'll let the GM-experts handle the technicalities, but I'd love to see the Rockets take a swing at getting a young stud like Curry.
If I remember correctly, I think the rockets drafted a center in the draft recently...I think maybe we should keep him as our starter.
Chandler is a great talent, but I'm really worried this back problem that has caused him to miss 25 games already this season. Back problems at 21 are not a good thing.
I would love him on this team. He's a great talent. He is capable of doing it all. If we have a shot, I say go for it!
Exactly, there's no difference between Curry and MoT if Curry won't rebound. He's seven feet tall... rebounds worse than Yao... there's not need for that.
JVG & Co. signed vets Jim Jackson, Piatkowski, Griffin, just signed the ancient Mark Jackson and is considering getting fossil Charles Oakley...you think he's going to be interested in a 20 year old project? Get used to veterans guys, that's the way its going to be, for better or for worse.
That's kind of the point of putting the guy on the block: if Curry was playing as well as Chandler, he wouldn't be offered. This is like a resale shop item; the last guy couldn't do anything with him, but someone else might. Curry may well live up to expectations with a change of scenery. That said, we already have 2 above average centers and a need at power forward. Curry wouldn't do any better at the 4 than Cato, so I'd set my target elsewhere.
Houston trades: SG Cuttino Mobley (15.6 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 3.3 apg in 39.6 minutes) SF Bostjan Nachbar (3.2 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 0.7 apg in 11.6 minutes) Houston receives: PF Marcus Fizer (6.1 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 0.8 apg in 13.7 minutes) SG Jamal Crawford (16.9 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 5.6 apg in 35.1 minutes) Change in team outlook: +4.2 ppg, +1.6 rpg, and +2.4 apg. Chicago trades: PF Marcus Fizer (6.1 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 0.8 apg in 13.7 minutes) SG Jamal Crawford (16.9 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 5.6 apg in 35.1 minutes) Chicago receives: SG Cuttino Mobley (15.6 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 3.3 apg in 40 games) SF Bostjan Nachbar (3.2 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 0.7 apg in 27 games) Change in team outlook: -4.2 ppg, -1.6 rpg, and -2.4 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED Than move Steve to the Two!
curry, ok for a cheap price, he would be good bench material and a good practice partner against cato and yao.
Fizer would be nice, wasn't he like a 4th pick overall, It would makeup for Eddie in a split second if he could just rebound liek he did in college
If he could rebound like he did in college, the Bulls wouldn't be trying to trade him or we wouldn't have enough to get him.
Hey, Steve for Crawford, Curry, Robinson, Fizer. Throw in solme Nachbars, Pietkowski's or whoever to make it work. Let's go young, big and athletic to surround the Cat and Yao.
Fizer had "bust" written all over him from the second he entered the league (I called it, too!... take that, DaDakota). Slightly-above average shot for a big man... ridiculously dependent on what was an explosive move in college... however, his explosiveness is about average in the NBA. Undersized players with average explosiveness and mediocre shots do not great players make. Fizer never had the positioning sense of a Barkley (with regards to rebounding). He was athletic for a college player... and had great desire. In the NBA, that means little.
Havn't really followed the bulls, but I always thought he never got a chance. He was behind brand the first few years, and then they got Curry and Chandler and that experiment has kept him back again. And he also had an injury in that time period if im not mistaken. I mean he couldnt be worse than C. Weatherspooon and Alton Ford
I'd take a chance on him. He's got post skills. Depends on price. If it's Cato for Curry and Robinson, sure. Go for it. Now that I read they are shopping the whole team, I'd prefer Chandler and possibly Crawford, if we're keeping Steve. If we're done with Steve, then pass on the combo guards; pick us up a real point and stud forwards.
