Like the article, but I think J O'neal will be better than Olokawdi. O'neal has an offensive game to go with a better defense than Olo.

Cato is better defensively, but O'neal has him in the halfcourt. Cato has had some rebounding woes, but this could be because the guards are rebounding.

Jermaine O'neal has proved absolutely nothing to me. He is useless. Cato has been overachieving and Olowakandi under, but I would still rate the Candy man higher than Cato, with more upside.

    thank you Joe Joe,

Cato does have rebounding woes. He has slippery hands. Or just too soft. There is plenty of rebounding teachers on this team, someone step up and teach him how to cling to that ball.

Also, he has a tendency to believe he can outjump anyone, so his block-out skills aren't the most fundamental i've seen.

Cato needs some better fundamentals. Hopefully this will come has he takes on more and more of the best in the league. he has some competitive fire in him for sure. that should lead to him wanting to improve.

my statements have nothing to do with measuring him to Olo. I've never seen Olo, except in our last game with them and i was watching Odom and Taylor more.

btw: Taylor is an excellent free agent acquisition for next summer for us. Unfortunately, if the clippers are smart, they will sign and trade him before that, and we don't have much to offer. We would need a pure free agent deal.

Revisit this thread, three years later...This is quite interesting.

Looks like the Blazers are pretty smart. At least they WERE pretty smart. Too bad they ended up trading O'neal for Dale Davis.:D
