"Seattle rookie Nick Collison needs surgery on both shoulders and will miss the season.

"It's very disappointing. I've wanted to play in this league since I was 8 or 9, and now I'll be out for a year," the power forward said Saturday.

Collison was the 12th overall draft pick this year after leading Kansas to the NCAA championship game.

He averaged 18.5 points and 10 rebounds as a senior.

The 6-foot-9 Collison dislocated his left shoulder early this week, and later tests showed similar weakness in his right shoulder."

    Yay...good news for Rockets.

Carmelo Anthony blew out both of those shoulders when he blew right by him in the championship.

Speaking of CARMELO...on nba.com, it shows him, Andre Miller, and Nene...lol...who by the way..is just called NENE now...no last name at all!...well Carmelo is supposed to be 6-8. He looks kinda short compared to Nene and about the same size as Andre...maybe they made his picture smaller...

yah, in brazil, big celebrity athletes often legally change their names to just one recognizable name. ex. Rinaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldhino, Ronaldmcdonaldo etc...

status symbol, over here they put a rap album out, over there they just change their name...

That's a killer for the Sonics. They were hoping that he would be the presence in the paint that they needed. MAJOR blow. Now they have to rely on James and Vitaly.

Wrong. Dude, Nene is the MAN down there. Granted, he's not in the level of most soccer players, but the NBA is marketing him BIG TIME down there.
