I just heard on ESPN News that David Aldridge reports Quentin Richardson just signed an offer sheet with the Suns. Didn't say for how much though.
Q-Rich to the Suns? http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1835962 I apologize if this was posted already..... If Sterling doesn't match the Suns' offer to Richardson, they will have one of the most talented teams in the league. As much as I hate to say it, the Suns could be pretty decent this year providing they play like a team and stay healthy. So we better not get too comfortable.....
Wrong forum. Why do the Suns need Q-Rich? I really don't think he helps their team that much. They've got Nash, Joe Johnson and Marion at the 1,2, and 3. Sure he adds depth but who is going to be willing to come off the bench or take a lesser role?
Well, that is what I heard on ESPN News, but this was on RealGM: http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap.php#1089247263
Sure, thay will have some nice talent, but they have NO center. It's just like the Suns in the mid-90's. They had great talent but couldn't do anything in the playoffs without a center. Same with the Suns that had J. Kidd. They were a great run 'n' gun team that one a bunch of games, but could do nothing in the post season. Unless, they have a plan to bring in some good front court help, I can't see this helping them out that much.
they would've been better off signing a center. unless this means that they are getting ready to trade either marion of johnson....
Fast, fun, good -- and only Amare inside (altho I like 'Little' Jake's game well enough. If the signing does not get matched then I like the Suns -- but championship timber? Doubt it. Who gets/takes Marion (and his contract)?
The suns are going to be an exciting team to watch. A lot of points will be scored when the Suns play. Of course this topic does not have anything to do with the rockets.
Amare is going to be great next year, and he will be the man of Suns. On paper they are one servicable center away from the top 4 teams of west. Who start at the center for Spurs, Wolves, Mavs?
The Suns have been the Rockets' biggest rival for a while, this is major news on their part so I felt like seeing it discussed. Sorry if I pissed anyone by posting it here, chill out.
Just like the Rox, Suns goes as far as Amare develops. Who start at center for Spurs, Wolves and Mavs? Suns are now strong in 4 positions.
This doesnt make sense. They have Joe Johnson. They have Shawn Marion. What, is Marion going to be the 4, Stoudamire the 5, JJ the 3 and Richardson the 2? I know the Suns wanted to get a big guy, perhaps there wasnt one available worth the money and thus they went this route. To me, the Suns going after Richardson is them stockpiling talent. Nash Richardson Johnson Marion Stoudamire Interesting lineup indeed! And my question there is, is there enough basketballs to go around? Seriously? Looks like a lot of offense and few role players. Makes me wonder how that team would mesh. What does this do to Denver's efforts for Ginobili? Richardson was their "fall back position" and now that is in jeapordy!
Come on!!! The only reason that this board talked about the Suns was because we were competing as to whom had the backcourt of the future!! Marbury and Hardaway or Francis and Mobley. Both tandems are gone. Either way, the Suns aren't Rocket ball.
It will be exciting to see the Suns match up with the Rockets though. Yao Howard Jackson McGrady Barry (hopefully) Stoudomire Marion Richardson Johnson Nash Geez that will be a fun game to watch. I guess you were right this makes me start thinking about the season.
This move is not bad. Much better than the Steve Nash signing. There isn't any good big man in the FA market for seasonable prices. They are most likely going to trade Marion anyway.
It's really strange to see teams make the same mistakes over and over and over again. The five free agents this summer who have the potential to change the league's balance of power are: kobe bryant' the punk eric dampier (I might be stretching it here) marcus camby (re-signed with Denver) kenyan martin rasheed wallace Notice that only one of them is a small. The only player that will potentially be a thorn in Houston's side is Kenyan Martin who might end up in the West. KM, AS, and SN is not a trio I would like to see together.
