Mcgrady said "after this time, I think we need to play a more untempo game instead of slowing it down."

He thinks JVG should have a system that adapts to the players instead of players adapting to his.

    Wow. Good stuff. :)

Yeah he also said that when the ball is in his hands in a uptempo game, thats when the rockets are at their best.

I saw it and I was surprised as to how candid he was. He basically said all the things we've been saying all along about speeding up the game and him handling the ball more and creating things for himself and others.

He said that JVG has never had a scorer of his caliber playing alongside a talented big man and that he thinks JVG should adapt to his players instead of the players adapting to his system.

He said that he was aware that there were people who doubted the trade and said that after this game all the questions about his abilities on the court should be answered.

I liked that he managed to say all this without sounding arrogant. I know it doesn't seem like it, but he did. Very good interview.

VERY good stuff! Loved watching that interview.

We might just be getting to the point where the players say F' you JVG we are playing OUR way, uptempo, whether you like it or not. Whatever it takes to WIN.

Now, TMac is going to be in JVG's dog house.:D How dare him even doubt the great defensive master's coaching style?

I'll try to do it later tonight.

I have it captured, but i have to compress and find somewhere to upload it, and I'm about to go out right now, so it may be up around 9 at the earliest.

I think JVG may be on a short string. He does not have the kind of players that he had with the Knicks and he has failed to adapt. This summer he and CD missed some good players that were badly needed. This could have been a much different team with one of the much talked about 4's and one of the many young 1's that were available. I know you just can't scrap players with guaranteed contracts, but we could have payed the luxury tax for one year while deals ran out. I think the players have rejected JVG and his system and Les won't tolerate that for long.

    JVG is a control freak.

He will never allow T-Mac to just run and gun unless there is just no other option like the last minute of last nights game.

JVG feels the only way to control the game is to control the tempo.

Very nice interview. T-Mac was very candid to speak out his own thoughts. It seems he is not a real fan of JVG's game plan.
