Thats gonna be kind of hard since theres a lot of emotions that go through a player during an intense game. At least this upcoming season, charities will get a lot of donations.
I just don't understand why this is needed. I think technicals when players are getting hostile with one another or refs are completely warranted - but it seems like Stern is just trying to remove any emotion from the game. Besides being impossible for all the players to be emotionless, it'll also make it less fun for the fans. Can you imagine your star getting kicked out of a game because he slapped his own arm to demonstate a foul?
Because every 12 seconds someone is crinkling there face up and looking at the ref after EVERY call b******* about it. This rule will make some of the stars hopefully feel less entitled to gripe about stupid crap. If kobe acts the same way he has over the years, he'll be getting his 16th tech in the 10th game of the season and serving a 1 game suspension after it very soon. I like the change, and hopefully will cut down on the arguements after every call.
Let's not become like the No Fun League. Everything else is ok, but a tech for air punching or celebrations, is a bit much.
In other words, the NBA continues its "pussification" (RIP George Carlin). This is truly pathetic, they're taking the emotion of the freaking game.
I don't think that means air punching for celebration (like Tiger Woods is known for), I think it means air punching like Kobe does every time he thinks he should have gotten a call.
Hehe this is fun. Let's not get started on Pau and Kobe.... that might take a while. Since Pau's too big to flop effectively he just yells like a banshee every-time someone is moving towards him... sadly it seems to work on the refs.
The NBA needs an overhaul on its calls on fouls. WHo gives a damn about technicals.....I can't stand those superstar calls where a guy hardly gets touched and gets a foul is called, yet there are many times when an unknown players gets smacked and the referee looks the other way. These mystery calls make me want to stop watching the NBA.
They should work on calling flops more than player's getting pissed. This is a lame focus. Its more empowerment for the league. It opens it up where the league keeps making questionable rules, while muzzling people limiting the amount of critique they receive for it. This is David Stern to a "T" (yes, intended)
Besides the technical foul call for running at a ref. I think it's all bull****. You can't "air-punch"? Unless it's a Trevor Ariza punch yeah ok t em up but if it's Kobe doing that Tiger woods punch in a celebratory fashion then WTF? Also you can't reenact or show where you got hit? That's not that critical so it really doesn't deserve a T.
