OK, I just went through ESPN's lottery machine and in my scenario Phoenix has a top 5 pick and Chicago has a top 10 pick. How did they get these?

My guess is Isaiah Thomas did a really bad trade and gave them those picks.

Chicago switches picks with Knicks from the Eddy Curry trade. Phoenix gets Atlanta's pick from the Joe Johnson trade.

Yep, but Atlanta's pick for Phoenix is top-3 protected, so Phoenix can't get Oden or Durant. they will however get somebody pretty darn good.

Chicago can (and will) flip picks with NY.

Atlanta will get the Pacers pick if it is not in the top 10. Since the Pacers are lcoked into the 11th or 12th worst record, they would have to win the lottery (getting a top 3 pick) and the odds are less than 3% for that.

Absolutely ridiculous. Phoenix has a ****ing top 5 pick?

Reminds me of when the Pistons had the #2...hopefully Phoenix will pick a Darko.

Phoenix shopped Marion last off season.

If Phoenix gets the #5 pick, would Marion and the #5 get them into 1 or 2 spot?

I would say no, because of the potential of Oden and Durant. But it is interesting to look at. Marion is an Allstar, and Noah could be available at the #5. Thats a pretty athletic front court for anyone.
