This question gets brought up about 3 times a day.... YES. Lebron can most certainly pass up Michael Jordan. Key word: CAN He has a long way to go, and the odds are against him, but it *can* undoubtably happen.
Why is it always about Jordan? LeBron has started his own mold in the league never seen before. His situation is far different which can lead him to become the greatest (as far as game and not rings).
Because by using Jordan's name the media knows they can get some webpage hits. We are discussing it after all.........so once again it worked. What LBJ does on the court is not really relevant, its always about the $
Shaq is not the greatest, nor will he ever be considered to be. The term GOAT transcends the game itself. There will never be a player as iconic as Jordan, whose legacy belongs in the domain of greater human history like those of Einstein, Newton and Shakespeare. It's one thing to excel at a sport, but Jordan did the unprecedented. Stars today are grown by the league, whereas Jordan did the opposite. I for one think he was/is the epitome of human arrogance and indecency, but you can't deny his legacy. With that said LeBron is is own man, and towards the tail of his career he'll be able to enjoy the acclaim and respect that Kobe is getting nowadays. Alot of bias against him will be shed, and ya'll will probably all say it was a pleasure to have witnessed one of the best in his prime (which is what I say about Kobe now)
The point i always try to make is you can never compare two different players from different eras. No matter how many numbers and stats you pull up there is always going to be another 1000 variables that took effect in how the outcomes played. There wont be another mj because what he did was in his own time and rules. He was the first of what he did and this is what Lbj is doing, making a new mold on the game which we have not seen before which might render him a goat in his own rights one day..
Never. You ruined that when you formed a super team with your buddies. Mj's simply cut from a different cloth
