    Hi guys!

ESPN Insider just came out with their projected draft .
The Rockets have a 2nd Round 55th pick----

this is who they have going at # 55 a Power Forward from Russia

    # 55 Sergei Lishouk

    POWER FORWARD | (6-11, 232) | RUSSIA

    Sergei Lishouk
Notes: A native of the Ukraine. Was the leading scorer in the European Under 20 Championships a few years ago. A real sleeper because few scouts actually get to Ukraine, so many don't have a great feel.
Upside: He's the type of player that does nothing great, but everything well. Good scorer with great range on his jumper. He can score anywhere on the floor.

Downside: He's not very long and he's not a great athlete. He lack lateral quickness or any time of explosiveness. He needs to get stronger to play the four in the pros. He's just not quick enough to guard threes. Lack of competition an issue.

Insider Projection: He's more seasoned than many of the Europeans in the draft and some scouts are intrigued. He's probably not a first rounder, but could be one of the more popular names in the second round.

    SL-600!

    Splash!

    I still don't think he'll take TE's roster spot.

I think it's easier to get good players in the 2nd round these days. Everybody is going for the hs kids or european players, that some good college kids fall to the 2nd round. They won't have the "potential" as the hs kids, but they are still good players that have a good chance to produce in the pros.

FYI.....Not that it matters much in the second round (because picks are ususally done on best available player anyway) but that Insider Mock draft was done without teams in mind. The panel just selected the best player that was available from #1 pick to the end.

We'd have to trade up for him, but you are right, this guy is a perfect fit for the Rockets. I've seen him play many games over the last 3 years and the guy is awesome. He's a 4 year college guy so he'll be ready to go out of the box. Very smart, great shooter, great finisher, tough, great passer. I think he's going to go higher than he's being projected, but it would be awesome if we could trade up and get him.

Cause this guy isn't long, or athletic. And kirilenko is athletic, very long, and absolutely tenacious on defense. Not saying this guy can't be good, but he isn't even our pick yet. We should wait until we actually draft someone to start raving over the possibilites.

antonio burks looks to be a perfect fit for us at PG. he is also projected by a few sites to be available when we pick.

    from draftcity.com
    the good:

Unbelievably quick PG. Dick Vitale says 2nd quickest after Felton. Can blow past almost any defender in the NCAA and does so on a regular basis. Burks can shoot lights out from beyond the arc and his 45% proves it. Has the ability to consistently hit the outside jumper and immediately focuses on defense. He has great lateral quickness and impedes the progress of most that he has played. he is great at stealing the ball and converts with a high percentage.

Burks has great vision on the court and is adept in findign the open man on the floor when the defense collapses around him while he drives. He has great strength at only 6' and 200 pounds he can overpower smaller guards or blow by the smaller ones. His strength allows him to get inside and fight for the offensive boards to pull it back out and start the offense again. His great strength is 2nd only to his big heart. He can really turn it up when his teammates are slumping and ha the ability to takeover games.

    the bad:

Is a good all around player, but can get frustrated with a smaller guard on him, but at 6' there aren't too many smaller guards to get in his way. It is hard to pick on any one aspect of his game as he does everything very well. Has been accused of taking a few too many shots, but he shoots a great percentage from the field, so it can be dismissed by some.

Edit by Prerak Shah: The key with Burks is the issue of him being able to continue his strong college play at the NBA level against stronger, taller, and perhaps even quicker opponents. There is little reason to believe he will continue to play as well as he does now largely because he simply doesn't have as much room to improve, but remember that not as much is expected of Burks. He will be "solid".

Trading up for Luke Jackson is reasonable, he has good size and good skills. The Brent Barry comparison is perfect.
