No explicit mention of the Rockets, but it appears he may be on the block according to the omniscient Chad Ford:

    Requires an Insider Account

    Brent Barry, G, Spurs

Remember all those preseason stories claiming Barry was the missing piece to the Spurs' championship aspirations? Someone forgot to tell Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich. Barry's minutes have been dwindling by the week. Over his last five games he's averaged just 11 mpg and 2.6 ppg. What's the problem?

His 3-point shot has been cold as ice (28 percent this year to 45 percent last year). Without his shooting, Barry can be a liability. His defense is not up to Popovich's standards, and the Spurs haven't needed Barry to play backup point thanks to a terrific start by rookie Beno Udrih. With so many teams in need of a veteran shooter, will the Spurs cut their losses while Barry has trade value? He turns 33 on Dec. 31. His stock won't stay high forever.

Brent might not be the only Barry on the move. His brother, Jon, isn't getting minutes for the Hawks and has some value around the league.

This year's Barry equals to last year's Ward.

Trade for him, take his 4 year contract and then whine!

At least, somebody will respect his shooting ability, won't leave him wide open, free a little bit space for Tmac and Yao.

The hell with Barry, he chose San Antonio over us just like Ward did. Only difference is nobody realized at the time Ward was garbage. Then there's us, we go and give him a 3 year guarenteed deal in the offseason.

Nod! His contract is not decent. Spurs had thoght that Barry was their last piece for ring. That was why they agreeed to sign him with such a contract. But we are not in the same situation. Unless they would like to take Mo, no way!

I can't imagine the Spurs actually trading him. He may not be playing well right now, but they didn't sign him for what he can do in Oct.-Dec. They wanted him for his shooting and slashing in the playoffs. I believe he will be a Spur for a couple of seasons.

even if the Spurs did trade him, I highly doubt it'd be to an in conference rival.

Was Chad Ford one of the many so called NBA basketball experts proclaiming the signing of Brent Barry by the Spurs as one the biggest offseason aquisitions this past summer. The Spurs won't admit it but I'll bet you they got to miss Hedo Turkoglu just alittle bit.

The trade would make sense for both teams... the Spurs would like another big body underneath... someone who could score in the post or be banger or both. Barry won't bring alot... but a Spoon or Howard swap for Barry would make sense for both teams. The Spurs also don't view Houston as a challenge so I doubt they would hesitate sending him to us.

While he is off to a slow year... and I think it is because he isn't getting the minutes... he is a player. Tall, good help defender, smart, and a good shooter.

    PG Sura, Ward, AB
    SG JJ, Barry
    SF TMac, Boki
    PF Padgett, Taylor
    C Yao, Deke

I think it only strengthens our team.

he won't do any better playing for us. he is a dissapointment this season. and for that contract we shouldn't even consider him now.

Are we offically the dumping yard for the Spurs? First Ward didnt sign with us but with Spurs. After found out that Ward shot horrendously, Spurs dumpped him this year. We picked him up and need I go on about Ward?
If Berry is shooting freaking 28 percent worse than anybody on this Rox team, why would we want him? Does the article mention that his defense is liability?
    Just say no.
