Didnt see this posted. Very good deal i think for the Warriors. This guy looks like he is going to be an absolute stud in a few years time so to wrap him up for such a long cntract at such a reasonable price is a good move by the Warriors management.

Great Deal for both parties. I think value wise this is a really deal for the Warriors. He will be worth more than 10 mil per year salary in a couple of years.

Monta did well too, considering his future is pretty nicely secured.

Monta Ellis hit the jackpot! If he keeps improving, so did the Warriors. The pressure is going to be heavy and he will have a bullseye on his back from now on. Ellis must now take over and be the lead dog on this team.

I like him a lot and hope he lives up to it. It's sure gonna be different without BD there to absorb the glare and deflect the spotlight.

    Sensible deal for both sides.

Def. think Golden State got value for the price! Monta's gonna be an all-star caliber scoring freak (already is, to a certain extent). It's a good deal for Ellis too, considering the long-term security it offers. Now he can just focus on playing ball for the next 5, 6 years.

Remember when we gave Steve Francis 100 million to put up pretty similar numbers? Granted, he had more assists - but maybe Monta will put up more assists as he plays PG more.

Ellis got the money he deserves......wouldn't mind having him on the rockets.

Another second round success after agent zero and manu. He deserves it, the way he attacks basket, his speed, and his shooting are all proven.

Martin as in Kevin martin right? I would take Ellis, IMO Rockets need more slashers to the baskets, and some of the stuff he pulls around the rim is crazy.

    Kevin Martin doesn't slash?

I'd take Martin on the Rockets - he makes a living at the FT line!

The ONLY thing that Ellis has over Martin is quickness. They both suck on D but Martin is better. Martin is a better shooter and he's taller.

Someone said this was a great deal for GS, i don't think so. 11 mil a year for a 6'3 SG is quite a bit unless he becomes a superstar. Last year he was the third best player on a lottery team.

It is quite a bit considering his lack of defense. He isn't Allen Iverson but he was the 3rd best player after an all star and a veteran who is still playing at a high level. The best way to utilize him is to get an athletic big 2 guard who can defend and come off the bench for some scoring. I don't think Monta is a PG.

GS will have to look for another PG in the future. Monta's youth is a plus point for them since he has the ability to grow along with the rest of the team. Losing him would have hurt GS.

He Sucks! Baron Davis is Wayyyyyyyyy Better! It doesn't matter they are gonna get beat really bad this season. Seeing as Yao, Tmac, Rafer, Scola, Francis, Landry, Mutumbo, Greene, Dorsey will be on the roster... Every other player is not needed... That includes Shane we should get Rudy Gay Back... I hate shane he's so inconsistent on offense...

That could potentially be a disaster.

Great scorer, reasonable signing, but Monta Ellis is not a point guard.

Actually he was the 2nd best player (only .2 PER off of Davis). A 22 year old putting up 20-5-4 and by far the highest shooting % among their wing players.

Heck, Joe Johnson was the 4th best player on his team a few years ago and already 25 and he got a max deal. Look at Maggette's or say Tay Prince's money (an offensively average player who is the 4th best player on his team).

Or compare Ellis's amount with Redd's.

Ellis was quite possibly on the trajectory to a max contract or close to it. He took a little less for immediate security and total amount. GS may have saved some long term. Smart move by both parties.

Just also add the cavout that it was "a lottery team" who had a winning record and would have made either conferences playoffs any other year since playoff expansion.
