    Story online now

However, this title says the Grizzlies "eye Green or Deng." That's a little different.

Does the source even know which one they are looking at? Is the source Plowman covering all his bases?

If they add Deng, Memphis goes up another notch. He would take the place of Courtney Lee and Tayshaun Prince. Prince could become more of a spot player and Lee's minutes would go down.

IMO, Jeff Green is just another Rudy Gay type of player that would take FGAs away from other starters and be less efficient. He doesn't belong as a starter on a contending team.

As a Rockets fan, I wouldn't care if they got Jeff Green. Deng better not go there.

Celtics are on crack if they think anyone would give them a 1st round pick.

If deng does go the griz....damn watchout....I would argue they will probably be the best team in the league.

Deng doesn't make Grizz the best team in the league but they will be extremely competitive and has a realistic shot at the title, unlike us.

They should be. What's the point of what they're doing right now?

They would be dumb not to. Especially with Bosh. They struck gold when he agreed to resign back because then the next season they could turn him into a trade that actually helps them rebuild with actual players rather than just getting cap space.

However the potential trade gold that Bosh represents could quickly turn into coal with an injury or steep decline in play with his age. Look at what waiting too long to trade Rondo had on his trade value. At 20 mil+, I'm pretty sure that value will get worse, and worse with time.

I wrote about this in the random trade thread, but the opportunity for the Heat to really do something productive with their future is now, and it requires them trading Bosh. If they can get value for Deng then they also should do that, but he means way less for their future than trading Bosh would.

You honestly believe 30 year-old Bosh is "trade gold"? Seriously? With that contract?

Nobody wants Bosh at $20+ million/year until 2019.

I do. But that's only because he'd be a great fit with Howard and Harden. That would not be the case with other teams.

The BEST trade fit for Bosh/Miami would be Phoenix if they could get salaries to match. Maybe next summer you could trade both Morris twins cash in on all of those first round picks.

Signing Bosh as a free agent for 4 years/~88 million or so to partner with Howard and Harden would have been a good deal.

Having to trade multiple pieces from our team (something like the NOP pick,, plus Capela, Papa and Jones/D-Mo?? would that even be enough outgoing salary?) for the "privilege" of paying Bosh 5 years/~120million is not a good deal. Definitely not trade gold.

If the Heat made Bosh available I'd be all over it...

    with one problem.

It would be really hard to put together the right salaries to get Bosh on this team without giving away players you actually need. And once that deal was done you'd have no assets to go get anyone else.
