Knicks to sign Roberson, putting Marbury's Knicks future in doubt By Andrew Marchand Special to ESPN.com The Knicks will sign guard Anthony Roberson later Wednesday, which further indicates that Stephon Marbury might be a goner with New York. Anthony Roberson Roberson Roberson's agent, Chris Grier Luchey, told 1050 ESPN that Roberson should sign a two-year deal for a little more than $1.6 million. "I think they see Anthony as a guy who can come off the bench and score, providing a spark plug," Grier Luchey said. The Knicks will now have 16 players on their roster. They will be allowed to have only 15 players when the season begins. Along with Marbury, Jerome James is also a candidate to be released. Both are in the final years of their contracts. Roberson has previously played with the Warriors and the Grizzlies. He has averaged 4.1 points in 36 career NBA games. He played his college ball at Florida. The New York Post, citing unnamed sources, first reported that the Knicks would sign Roberson. Andrew Marchand is the managing editor of 1050 ESPN Radio in New York. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3491677 ........................................................................................................ My question is this - how much crap has Marbury put the Knicks through that they'd prefer a rotation of Chris Duhon and Anthony Roberson? p.s. Who the hell is Anthony Roberson?
No stuff..............Marbury must have screwed somebodies wife in the organization or something.............lol
Wasn't D'Antoni saying that he liked Marbury as a PG when he joined the Knicks? If Marbury gets bought out, do the Rockets show any interest in picking up him up on the cheap? He certainly has some skills that could be useful.
Cue DaDa. After the recent action in the Artest thread, it will be interesting to watch him in this thread.
Worst, he tried to screw somebody in the orginization. Remember that case Isiah caught with that chick? Well, Starbury was hitting that too.
I would look at him...because he is FREE...... If Artest was Free, I would look at him too. FREE......is the operative word...you don't have to break up a good team, and if he screws up...you cut him....no harm, no foul. Comprende Mango? DD
marbury is one of those players (like antoine walker) that you never look at, even for free. they're the kind of players that you have to PAY to get rid of.
I don't recall the Free disclaimer being used in the Artest thread. no harm, no foul. It is easy to say that now, but you are already projecting that if he screws up and creates a negative atmosphere in the locker room, that he can be easily removed from the team without any Cost (distraction). If he creates enough of a dissension that he needs to be dropped, then he possibly could have harmed the team even if it is for only a game or two. At this point in time (since he isn't on the team), my point could be just as valid as your contention of: no harm, no foul.
I wouldn't want Marbury on the Rockets under any circumstances. I'll admit that's somewhat hypocritical of me because I'd welcome Artest to Houston. But I suppose the major difference is that I hate Marbury both on and off the court. I think he might be the stupidest person alive off the court, and on the court he plays like the stupidest person alive. He's incredibly talented as an athlete, but he just plays the worst kind of me first basketball I've ever seen. Artest, to the contrary, at least has been a selfless roleplayer doing the dirty work in the past. Granted, that hasn't been the case so much in Sacramento. Anyway, I have at least enjoyed watching Artest play. And that's more than I can say about Marbury.
I am 100% on the other side of this argument....Marbury has been an idiot but he makes others better....and as a PG that is what you do....Artest, also an idiot, has led a scorched earth policy everywhere he has been. Oh well.... And Mango....read my Artest takes again, I said I would look at him if it did not require any core pieces......thus...FREE. DD
So I guess people want another Steve Francis, Marbury reunion. I remember Marbury's first day as a Knick in MSG, I think the Rockets and Steve destroyed the Knicks by 20 points.
DD your credibility is really benn takin a hit lately bossman....... Is everything ok....u got some stuff goin on in your life right now man???? U use to make a whole lotta sense .....but lately u have been in a slump.....might wanna look into one of those slump busters........... Its one thing to say take a look at Marbury for cheap......... but its another thing to say he makes people better man..........come on...........say u were just kidding and didnt really mean that one man..............jeezz And all that blabber in the artest thread about how much of a cancer he is.......can go as welll............just stop typin for a while man.....take a vacation and take a load off............... step away from the keyboard
