From insider, just saw this: Rockets general manager Daryl Morey told the Houston Chronicle Wednesday that teams are "very aggressive" in their pursuit of Tracy McGrady and the final season of his contract. Morey, unlike in past years will consider offers. "We're getting a lot of interest on Tracy, and I do have to listen," Morey said. "It's my job to make this team as ready to win the title as possible. I think the reason we are going to have a pretty high bar on moving him is because he still provides exactly what coach (Rick Adelman) and I thought we were missing, which was a guy who can get a high-quality shot at the end of the game. "That said, we want to position ourselves for the playoffs, it looks like it's going to be hard for Tracy to be here for a good chunk of the year, so if we can get a talented player who helps us all season, I think we have to look at it."
Cant believe ESPN makes people pay for that stuff! Exact same thing we heard yesterday in his presser for FREE!
Might have already been posted, but it was just added to ESPN rumors, so I thought it was new. Sorry if it has been posted
here, it's based on this article from chron I believe. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/6496245.html
For us, the info was readily available, though. True, web sites simply gather info that's all over the place, but who has time to go find all those web sites anyway? If Steve Kerr had told this sort of info to the Arizona Republic (is that the name of the Phoenix paper?), I doubt I would have been on that website to find that out---in fact, some newspaper web sites require signup anyway. Takes too long. That sort of thing.
ESPN wasnt talking about trading T-Mac for Brand. Those are 2 seperate articles. One is that the Rockets GM will consider offers for T-Mac and another was I presume from other reports that the Sixers are or have indeed shopped Elton Brand.
This is not "insider" information. Morey discussed this in the press conference yesterday and it's being discussed in the 1560 press conference thread that already exists.
