The poll shows 8% for Ron bringing the biggest impact for the new team.

Hopefully by the power of clutchfans we can convert that.

I take that to mean that they have McGrady at about # 7 for MVP, so there's at least a little bit of love...except for the fact that Amare is ahead of him. Are you kidding me?

If they somehow manage to win 60+, I think T-Mac might have a chance as sort of the lifetime acheivement award MVP's that were doled out in the 90's to Barkley and Karl Malone. It will depend strictly upon running away in the standings though because neither he nor Yao will have the numbers to compete with James, CP3, and Kobe.

They picked Wade to win MVP? That is amazing especially after his team being the worst team in the NBA last season. I'd put McGrady instead of Wade, really.

    Artest 2nd worst newcomer? Nonsense...

Dunno if it will show up in your browser...

But the ignorance of the people who voted in the poll is beyond me.

People actually had the Lakers over the Celtics in the NBA Finals! (34.2% to 13.3%)

No one gives love to the Rockets.

    5) Which team will win the Northwest division?

    47.4% Hornets
    31.7% Rockets
    15.0% Spurs
    4.7% Mavericks
    1.1% Grizzlies

    8) Which team will win the Western Conference?

    47.3% Lakers
    16.6% Hornets
    10.4% Rockets
    6.3% Spurs
    5.3% Suns
    4.9% Trail Blazers
    4.1% Jazz
    1.6% Mavericks
    0.9% Nuggets
    0.9% Oklahoma City
    0.5% Timberwolves
    0.5% Warriors
    0.2% Clippers
    0.2% Kings
    0.1% Grizzlies

    9) Which team will win the NBA Finals?

    34.2% Lakers
    13.3% Celtics
    9.8% Cavaliers
    6.0% Hornets
    5.6% Heat
    5.1% Rockets
    4.1% Suns

They predict the Rocket to win LESS games this year with a healthy, Tmac, Yao and Artest...

    SAY WHAT??????

And to rank the Hornets who have CP3 as an elite player and then Chandler and West as above average players....with Peja is just beyond me.

The Rockets will crush the Hornets between their butt cheeks....

Ya this is ridiculous, not even treating the rockets as legitimate contenders. Hornets has more chances than the rockets? WTF! What the hell did New Orleans do to get this much attention compared to the addition of artest and barry+22 streak?

I don't understand what the problem his. Come on Tmac is not going to be a MVP candidate on our team this year in Adelman's offense.

The MVP isn't what its spelled out anymore. The MVP is pretty much a the best player in the league award.

Also, I don't see whats wrong with "experts" and people thinking the Rockets are going to be 3rd in the west. In all honesty, I think that's the realistic spot for them. We are not better then the Hornets, or the Lakers with Bynum back.

In the "Which team will win the NBA Finals?" category, people have even picked the Cavaliers over us.

LeBron is LeBron, but, as evidenced last year, and the year before that...

...he can't do it by himself.

Again, the Rockets with no love. I guess people are banking on us flaming out again, in the first round, along with headcase Artest and injury-prone YaoMac.

    Haters.

i totally agree...with injured mac and yao Rockets won 55 games and now with those two + a player like Artest they predict us to win 53 games? ridiculous

we shouldn't be afraid of hornets at all, we are better than them without questions

Rock on! If we have a 31.7% chance to win the NORTHWEST division, our odds must be REALLY good in the SW.

I really don't understand why everyone still doubts Artest, expecting him to exploding during the middle of the season. Like he mentioned in his interviews, there shouldn't any reason for a grown man to put his family into jeopardy.

actually its still the best player on the best team award pretty much. last year kobe won it because he was the best player on the best team in the west. if the hornets won the west Paul would have been mvp. i think someone on the celtics would have had to have put better numbers to be considered.

dirk won it the year before when the mavs had the best record.

nash won it the two years when he was the best player when the suns were the best team and then the following year when the suns won 54 games and were a 2nd seed when everyone thought they would miss the playoffs after losing amare, johnson and richardson in the off season.

so while they are some differences MVP hardly ever goes to the best player otherwise Kobe would have won MVP at least 3 times by now and Lebron probably would have had one by now too (based on stats)

i dont care about these polls and all the Rockets will always be slighted in these things.

I just wished they had more national tv (and thereby having more HD) games

So then, you don't think we will win the Finals, much less the west?

How are we not better than the Lakers/Hornets? Our reg. season record pretty much matched theirs.

We had no Yao. We didn't Rafer for some games vs the Jazz. T-Mac was injured, a little bit. AND we didn't have Brent, Ron, or Dorsey.

You can't be serious, if you say we aren't one of the best, if not THE best in the west.

Uh, you fail. If we have less than a 50% chance of winning the NW, then we don't have a chance in hell of winning the SW.

Until the season starts, I am not convinced. We can sit here and preach all we want, but knowing our past, we cant stay healthy for the life of us.

That and its not like either the Hornets or the lakers are getting worse next year. lakers are going to have a healthy Bynum and who the heck is going to stop that team? The Hornets got a solid veteran, and West, Paul, Chandler and company are only going to get better.

I am not saying we dont have a chance to win it all next year. I am saying I am not blind to the oblivious. Not everything here is a blind Rockets homer.
