As always ESPN fails to even mention Eddie Griffin. What's the kid have to do?

    BEST ROOKIE: Pau Gasol

All three names in this envelope were air-mailed in from Europe. Gasol is a Spaniard. Andrei Kirilenko came from Russia with hops and polish. Tony Parker is restoring France's good name after the Frederic Weis experience. Indiana's Jamaal Tinsley, from the other conference, is the only current rookie whose impact can match the foreign trio. As for King Pau of Espana, don't even start with the "only has numbers because he's on a bad team" stuff. He came in compared to Nowitzki, but it's actually the perimeter game that needs work. Unlike Nowitzki and Stojakovic and most of the other imports to arrive on these shores, Gasol arrived ready to play around the basket.

    Yep..ESPN did it again!!

And did you also notice that he gave Peja the MVP and yet has him in the ALL-CONFERENCE 2ND TEAM with Steve (Houston gets jobbed) Francis?

When are they gonna find some better writers??

I doubt that's an accidental snub. Marc Stein writes for the Dallas Morning News. Griffin scored 19 points and hit three triples in one game against the Mavs and in another had 7 blocks (and was 3 blocks shy of a triple double with 10 points and 12 boards).

Stein can be reached at mstein@dallasnews.com ... I recommend being polite and asking him why he left him off that list.

"Marc Stein writes for the Dallas Morning News."

so is that why he has Tim Hardaway labeled as the best free agent pickup and Calvin Booth as the worst pickup..

That's why you should read the sporting news! They mention Griffin in their rookie of the year award.

"Inc" most likely stands for incomplete, which is a pretty fair grade, given the Rockets injury history this season. Even with Steve in the lineup, we've been a "C" at best...

A-Train, can't agree more! Giving the Rockets an F seems a little bit harsh given all the freaky injuries to the team. Incomplete is about fair.

And I really don't feel bad about people praising Gasol, because this kid is really fantastic. But mentioning Andrei Kirilenko and Tony Parker without a word on EG is a snub in itself. What did the 2 guys do to their teams that EG didn't do to the Rockets?

Forget it! I've given up on ESPN a long time ago! It gives me a good laugh whenever I see someone post something about ESPN dissing the Rockets, because I've got used to it.

That's not unusual. Remember the "award" is MVP not "Best player". A player can be more valuable to his team, yet not be better than other players at his position.

If this is true Francis is garunteed the MVP because the rockets are like 1-13 without him and 14-12 with him.
