"Bryant hopes to disprove that. "You tip your hat and say, 'See you next time,'" he said. "I don't think he has a conscience. I really don't. He was chucking out there. He took some horrible shots and he made some big ones. I don't get a chance to play him much. I'll be ready next time." For those interested in the rematch, set your Tivo now: Feb. 3, 7 ET. Franchise record for points scored by a Wizards opponent: 52." Didn't our very own T-Mac drop 63 on the Wizards a few years back?
Most points in one game with 62 (March 10, 2004 vs. Washington Wizards) Most points in one half with 37 in the first half (March 9, 2003 vs. Denver Nuggets) Most points in one quarter with 25 in the second quarter (March 9, 2003 vs. Denver Nuggets) Most free throws made in one game with 18 (December 25, 2002 vs. Detroit Pistons) Most points in a playoff game with 46 (in Game 2 of the 2003 Eastern Conference playoffs, First Round vs. Detroit Pistons) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tracy_McGrady
Tmac had 62 against Wizards the year before he got traded to Rox http://youtube.com/watch?v=UnWZ1T7Gk4s
For the most part you are right. It was not OUR T-Mac, lol, but Orlando's T-Mac back in his last season with the Magic. The exact stats line is of following: 46 MIN, 20-37 FG, 5-14 3PT, 17-26 FT, 10 REB (3 OFF), 5 AST, 1 STL, 0 BLK, 6 TO, 1 PF, 62 PTS Impressive but not very efficient performace, I have to say. The game, played on 03/10/2004 in Orlando, was won by the Magic, whose record after this victory stood at 19-44.
Tmac played very good 3 quarters, then got tired, only made 1 out 6 shoots in the 4th. He was 19-32 by the end of 3rd, 59% fgp.
I will watch that game if at all possible. I hope Gilbert blows up on the Lakers again and Kobe's shot is off.
Yeah he said he let the records he was about to break get into his head. It's tough when your mind starts playing games with you. That's why he sucked in the 4th quarter that game and missed so many free throws.
Will Tracy and the Rockets consider a surgery on his back at all? Or this is one of those very delicate procedure that might end playing the sports he love most. Is there anybody here who knows the chances for recovery and end the freaking back spasm!
Well if McGrady did get surgery on his back to correct his back spasms, he would be pain free from back spasms for the rest of his life. But he would also have to retire from basketball, and apparently he is not ready to do that yet. Saw that from ESPN or whatever so yeah. We just got to do the best with what we have, eh?
TMAC said he would retire b4 having back surgery. So whether back surgery would allow him to play pain-free or force him to retire and allow him a pain-free retirement...is not relevant imo.
For a guy who, on this board, gets no credit whatsoever for having any heart, I think this decision speaks volumes. Tracy McGrady is ready to play for this franchise, ready to do whatever it takes to win for this city, even if it requires enduing a good deal of pain until the end of his contract, maybe longer. He could have surgery to cure himself (I don't know this for a fact, but many have said it before) of his back problem, but that would almost certainly cause him to retire. Instead he chooses to go out there and give it his best until he feels he really can't play anymore. There's no rush to push T-Mac back into action yet, not when we have a decent record and only the Trailblazers next. I'm sure T-Mac could have/would have played these games if it were more vital and towards the end of the season or against division teams or something. Coming back to play from a back surgery is a tricky process, isn't it?
Shooting 5-14, or .357, from 3-point line isn't considered efficient either. I think the general consensus for decent 3-point shooting is .40 or above. If you look at Kobe's 81-point performance against the Raptors last year, you'll see the difference: 42 MIN, 28-46 FG, 7-13 3PT, 18-20 FT, 6 REB (2 OFF), 2 AST, 3 STL, 1 BLK, 3 TO, 1 PF, 81 PTs
WOW... someone loves his TMac! I like the guy; he's one of my favorites. But haw-dayam, I'm not all the way up his jock strap. FWIW: Back surgery cures nothing. They just rid the nerve of the pain. The problem still exists, he just doesn't feel it.
