I love the "I took steroids but didn't know it" excuse. That flak seed oil must have been pretty powerful stuff.

especially for a Boxer (shane mosley). Boxers ALWAYS know what's going in their body, cuz they gotta maintain their weight. I'm a Mosely fan, but Ive lost a lot of respect for him ever since that report came out. He conveniently "unknowingly" took steroids when he was moving up to Jr. Middleweight to fight de la hoya (Fall 03)

I bet she didn't use 1/2 as many steroids as the late Flo Jo, who's body was freakier than any athlete I've ever seen.

Marion Jones is no better than a scam artist. She sat up there during a press conference a while back and vehemently denied she ever used any performance enhancing drugs. She said she did it all with her God-given talent.

She's an embarrassment to go into the Olympics after doping the previous two years. Give all those gold medals to their rightful owners. She should go to jail and I believe she will for lying to federal authorities. She couldn't do it naturally. I guess she figured that out and decided to dope. I guess for her it became about greed and not the act of competing with the incentive of winning if you are good enough. She just wanted to jump right to the end with all the gold. Greed. F-ing phony!

While America may have risen to the top after WWII, we left something behind when we started the climb. Greed has corrupted. Greed will find a way. Who's next?

Sure, but who is the "rightful owner" when everybody's doping? I've come to the conclusion that we, as sports fans, are simply going to have to accept steroids as a part of the game. They aren't going away. We should do what we can to keep sports as clean as possible, but it's a losing battle.

You think Americans are the only Olympians who are doping? Wake up to reality. Remember Cornelia Ender of East Germany in '72 & '76? She was given state sponsored drugs. More recently, Michelle Smith of Ireland in 1996. There are others. Olympic cheating is far from an American problem. It is a sporting problem and many people never got caught.

I'm not defending Marion Jones in any way whatsoever. I'm glad this came out.

It's still anyone's guess whether Bob Costas will have one fewer thing to comment on China or one more thing to say about US athletes when he hosts the 2008 Beijing Olympics on NBC.

I didn't say that now...did I? I hold American athletes to a higher standard than other countries. American pride was supposed to be enough.
