Hollinger puts out excellent previews for teams/players before every season. His team previews are available on ESPN Insider right now, and the preview for the Rockets is a fun read (he really likes our team this season).

    Hollinger's Rockets Preview

It includes an in-depth 06/07 recap, a review of offseason moves, strengths/weaknesses, and an outlook. I'll post the Outlook section here:

just looking at things on paper, no one can deny rox. we have super stars and we have solid role players. the depth is there.

    everyone should excite.

let's see how things smooth out for rox fans.

A lot of y'all have been critical about the Rockets lack of coverage, or more importantly lack of support in the media. To an extent I agreed. For example, putting the NHL on the cover of sports illustrated over us was a slap in the face.

But in recent years y'all generally complained about the lack of Rockets slurping going on. The thing is we were never really worthy. It bothered me too, but honestly, the Spurs, Pistons, Heat, Suns, Mavs, etc... were better teams. Complete teams. This is the first complete team the Rockets have assembled during the Yao era. We finally have the potential. And now look... We are getting the credit we deserve. Everyone is taking notice. Its not the home town bias that cries out for Rockets support. We are legit.

    Maybe it really is time.

I want so badly to burst out of the gate with the top record ala '97 and '94, but the realist in me tells me there will be an early adjustment period.

all I ask is that yao and t mac both play at least 72 games a piece and can finish the season and playoffs healthy. that is also hoping the rest of the players can stay healthy

61 wins and 1st in the West? I love the Rockets, but there's no way I'd make that prediction. 55-58 wins is my best case scenario for the team.

Then again Rick Adelman coached both Portland and Sactown to 60+ win seasons, so who knows?
