Another quality move for the Pistons. They send junk to the Bulls for a quality player that is burried on their bench in Frank Williams. Williams is a solid player and probably will be a nice addition to the Pistons bench.

This is the kind of move the Rockets need to be making. Looking at teams with quality players rotting on the bench and making trades for them.

    Someone wake up CD!

Williams would back up Billups and Hunter

The Detroit Pistons are in serious talks with the Chicago Bulls about a trade that would send seldom-used point guard Frank Williams to the Pistons for Smush Parker and Horace Jenkins.

Pistons president Joe Dumars told ESPN.com that the two sides have been hammering out a deal for the past few weeks and was awaiting word from Bulls GM John Paxson on final approval Tuesday. The trade cannot become official until Wednesday because Jenkins and Parker signed free agent contracts this summer. Free agents and draft picks that signed this offseason are ineligible to be traded until Dec. 15th.

The Pistons have been interested in Williams since the 2002 draft. However, they passed on him in favor of Tayshaun Prince.

Williams earned brief success in New York last winter after Isiah Thomas took over the Knicks. At one point, Thomas went so far as to compare him to Walt Frazier after Williams had a five-game stretch where he averaged 13.2 ppg and 6.8 apg. However, once Thomas traded for Stephon Marbury, Williams' role on the team quickly disappeared.

Williams was traded to the Bulls this summer as part of a package for Jamal Crawford and has been on the bench.

The Pistons see Williams as a guard with true point-guard skills. The other two point guards on the team, Chauncey Billups and Lindsey Hunter, are really scoring guards with some point-guard abilities. Expect Williams to earn 10-to-15 minutes a night backing up Billups and Hunter.

The Bulls likely will waive Parker. His contract is not guaranteed. Jenkins could stay with the team until the end of the season when his contract expires.

On the Bulls' end, it's to clear roster space for an impending trade that may or may not involve a 6-11 dumbass who fouls an opponent to stop the clock when his team is up one point with 17 seconds left in the game.

    (deep breath)

Williams will easily be the second string behind Billups once he gets into the offence.

we didn't miss out on dealing crap for deke.

the reason we can't make a move is because we are handcuffed by our PF's. we will not trade for another one until one of our own is moved. since none of our own will be moved anytime soon we aren't getting the PF we need for a while.

what we can do is trade guys like lue and boki, maybe even spoon (i doubt JVG would trade him)...maybe gaines to make the cap work.

with a humble package like that we could still pull out a decent 3. young players and ending contracts are easy to trade. now who would take that? and what could they offer in return?
