What possessed people to be so dumb? The guy gets the opportunity for financial security that many who grew up like him will never have, and he throws it away on stuff that doesn't matter. http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nba/news/story?id=5216481
WTF thats crazy 85% interest??!!!?!?! that guy better pay off his debts with his final contract, he isnt gonna to get another NBA contract probably. he better call isiah thomas every single day for the rest of his life and thank him
I am not surprised when some athletes lose all their money... they gotta support their 10 houses , 1 wife, 5 Girlfriends, groupies , their "Boys",etc..... C'mon if we had access to that money , i would hit up my Gulf Stream jet to the Caribbean every wkend.
wouldn't it take a lot of effort to blow a $10 million/year salary? eddy curry just doesn't seem to have that sort of drive in him....
I found it kind of funny that they talk about him having to sell his 2009 Rolls Royce and 2 Land Rovers, then add his lawyer's name is Mercedes. He probably has a gardener named Lamborghini, a girl named Ferrari, and a poodle named Bugatti. In a sense, you have to kind of feel for people that are this dumb with money, but at the same time, you kinda just shake your head and wait for the next knucklehead with a financial debacle to come along - and you know they will.
I hear Derek Goldman and Ann-twonn Volcker are in a lot of debt too. No offense, but how did you misspell both his first name and last name when it's clearly written in the first sentence of the article?
Shimmy Walker said something that put it in perspective. Went something along the lines of... When you come from nothing all you have is your friends and family. When you sign a 100 million dollar contract you feel obligated to share, because they were there for you when it was hard so you feel like you owe them. I'm not saying that mean he should be an idiot with his money, but then again no one ever really teaches these guys how to invest or say no.
