Thats what I thought. Lenny? What the...
Other than the championship he won in the 70's, with the supersonics I believe, what has he done except rountinely kept his teams in mediocrity. This is Thomas's first bad move.

Teams need to QUIT HIRING LENNY WILKINS.

    30+ years of coaching.

    1 NBA title.
    2 division titles!!! (mackbrown-esque)
    1 coach of the year

Just by random luck, you'd win at least that much if you coach for the 30 years.

Interesting... everything I had been hearing all day was that it would be Fratello.

Might as well bring Bill Fitch out of retirement....

Like I said before: Layden to Thomas = bad to worse.

Hahaha, so the Knicks get the all-time losingest coach. Poor NYC. What ever happened to Michael Sweetney. I remember those dumb fans cheering like they actually didn't waste a lottery pick.

I sure am....I remember once, way back when, I believe it was late 80's, I went to a Rox game with my dad, it was one of the few times when we had courtside seats, via somebody that my dad knew or something like that. Being a kid, this was a great big huge deal, in fact I recall getting shooed away from Nuggets back up C Blair Rasmussen around the tunnel in the summit from trying to get his autograph... as if anybody wanted Blair Rasmussen's autograph.

Anyway, during the game (which the Rockets won, and maybe even scored over 120 for the free Big Macs--120?!?! Wow!) at one point Doug Moe, who was wearing an atrocious maroon sport coat, got two quick T's in the fourth and got ejected. The scoreboard operator flashed "NO MO' MOE!!" on the screeen, which, being a kid, I thought was about the greatest play on words in the history of civilization. So as he walked past the tunnel, near where I was sitting, I screamed "NO MO MOE!!!" as loud as I could, he responded by shooting me about the dirtiest look ever.

So yeah, I am a Doug Moe hater.

I thought even going to the Knicks was his first bad move. Or was that the Knicks bad move?

Lenny Wilkens.......Lenny Wilkens? The guy hasn't been relevant since his Cleveland Cavaliers days with Larry Nance, Ehlo, Hot Rod Williams, Mark Price and that gang.

Straight from NBA.com. Talk about mediocre! My mother could get over 1,000 wins coaching in that many games, for crying out loud. Dumb hire by Zeke; Fratello would have made a much better choice. At least the Knicks would have attempted to play defense instead of doing it French style (not at all, we are lovers, not fighters!).

I heard/read somewhere that Fratello is something like 120 games over .500 for his career-- coaching NBA franchises Atlanta and Cleveland. That is an accomplishment!

I'm guessing Starbury doesn't want to be coached.

"Here's the ball, Stephon, I'll just roll it out for you. You just do your thing. Everyone else, cover for him."

I wish they would have hired Fratello, so he'd stop working basketball games.
The guy is the Chris Jent of commentating.
