This is awesome. I was worried Boykins would kill the Rox tomorrow.

He's been on fire the last few games

As far as the deal, I am not familiar with their contractaul situations, but in terms of talent, Nuggets got screwed

I would offer our TE for Boykins. I knew we could never get him out of Denver (trade to potentially their playoff opponent), but I wonder if he could be pried from Milwalkee (TE, Lucus or Novak).

Nice to not have to face Boykins, AI is really Denver's only offense for the 2 times we play them.

Good point about Novak. He's like a cult here up there in Wisconsin. He would sell tickets with Michael Redd out, because he would get an opportunity to play.

I am sorry to all the Novak fans, but he's worth sh*t as a basketball player. Great guy though. I would trade him to somebody who thinks highly of Novak.

Draft players who are not good are more valuable before other teams discover that he can't play a lick. Teams value "potential" while the Rockets and JVg have already discovered that he will probably not amount to much. Everytime they interview JVG, he can't seem to put together 2 positive sentences about Novak. There was a Bucks beat writer that asked him about Novak after the Chicago game. You can tell interest is high in Milwuakee for Novak. Right now Novak's stock is as high as it can ever be. Let him go home to Milwaukee and trade him for a player than can contribute to the championship run.

um why is denver bending over backwards for milwaukee. steve blake isn't necessary on a team run through allen iverson, and boykins fits their style of play. Julius Hodge is just icing for milwaukee.

Blake is better than you think and Denver has wanted to dump Boykins all year. Patience with him was just about gone. I guess his recent scoring surge actually made him attractive to the Bucks. This is a very good move by the Nuggets.

I wouldn't give up a pack of chewing gum for Boykins or Hodge. If anything, Denver won this trade IMO.

except for the fact steve blake is pointless on a team with allen iverson. Iverson is going to need the ball in his hands to score or create for others. If he doesn't have it, anthony will.

Even if they gave up guys who were not worth a lot, they got someone in return that doesn't make them any better nor addressed a weakness.

You could argue any PG that plays alongside Iverson & Melo is "worthless". Certainly Blake is no great shakes, but nobody will give them a dime for Boykins and Hodge. The trade was fairly close to even and let Denver finally cut off Boykins.

As much as Boykins could hurt that team at times, and was superfluous on a team with AI, Blake might be the worst player in the NBA at this point.

8 points and 6 assists per 40 minutes, and he can't shoot a lick, alongside that horrible defense. How does that help a team, even at ten minutes at a time?

It was a luxury tax move.

you would think denver could at least get a draft pick alongside blake for boykins and hodge.

i've seen blake multiple times and fail to see how he is still in the nba. he's a good ball handler and okay distributor but that doesn't make up for his sieve-like defense and horrendous jumper.

Boykins for 6 million would have been ridiculous. Obviously they are banking on many different players taking in more minutes (J.R. Smith)

But they have created a PG problem that is far worse then ours if AI is out at any time.

    Addition by subtraction.

Earl Boykins was a misfit (on the court and at the pay table) for Georgie's Nugs. Good move for Bucks IMO. (Can Hodge play or is his career 'shot'?)

Blake will thrive, at least as much as he can thrive anywhere, as 'straight man' for AI, JR and Melo. Good move for Nuggies IMO.

Every second that Blake plays, he hurts a team. So it's only a good trade for Denver if the man never plays.

I think Denver did this trade only because they want to dump salaries.

Man, I really wanted boykins on the rox, if just to see him and Yao run an unguardable "between the legs screen".

You seriously overrated Blake here. Blake is worthless, particularly on a team with ballhogs like AI and Carmelo. This is just a salary dump move for Denver. No way they came out better on this deal.

doing the trade allows Denver to not pay luxury tax after the year is over and plus, blake wont take more than 3 shots per game, while boykins jacks them up like nothing else, (and he makes them too) but the nugs cant have the wee-man taking shots away from melo and AI
